Price with shipping and import?

Hi, I wonder how much the additional costs are to have a 1800$ 145 cm doll shipped and go through customs in Scandinavia?

If someone have experience with this, it would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

I'm not from Scandinavia but also from Europe. The rate of customs duty varies depending where you live? Sweden? Finland? Norway?
Sadly, it doesn't have anything to do with general EU customs because you'll import your doll directly from china, do you?

- I guess in Finland you will pay the max. 24%

- In Sweden probably max. 20% even if the rate of customs duty varies there.

- Norway is easy. 21 % from about 14000 KOR ( equals 1800 USD ) makes over 17000 norwegian kroner.

Yep, I'm thinking of importing from China, or at least to compare vs an EU seller.
I just stumbled upon a page saying customs here are 12% of price & freight, plus 25% VAT, plus a fixed fee.
Denmark isn't the most import friendly place I guess

Now just to figure out how much the shipping cost would be, I was hoping DS had estimates for this on their page, but haven't found any yet.

I paid $500 for shipping. Customs fee were far less than expected.

Well.

In general:

You pay the price for the doll - pretty obvious.
You pay the price for shipping - kinda still obvious.
You pay the import duty on the aggregate value of shipping & transport, roughly in between 2% and 6.5% depending on what the item was classified as and your customs accepting that classification or using their own - usually for a "mannequin" about 4% - this percentage is the same all over the EU, but the classification accepted may vary.
You then pay the "Value added tax" of your country on the aggregate value of all expenses so far( that is including transport and duty), usually in between 19 and 25% - afaik.
There may also be a small handling fee by the customs office on top of that - i.e. for storage if you don't show up soon, but usually there isn't.

As a rough estimate, in between 24 and 30% on top of doll price and shipping is a good estimate.

Some people get away with lower cost because the sender undervalues the item in order to reduce the payment - that is a gamble however and while pretty common may very badly hit you if discovered - it usually also means that the transport in under-insured.

Unless you deal with customs at least every now and then I strongly suggest you contact a European Reseller, such as Sandro( DS Doll Europe) in Berlin(Germany), Stef( Asian Dolls) in Dieppe( France) or Bruno(DSDOLL France) in Saint-Amand-Montrond( France)- I have personally dealt with all of them and can recommend them.

I guess this is where I'm at now:

2500$ total for import from China with shipment valued somewhat low (insurance not covering much, and another risk, 5%?)
3000$ total for import from China with shipment valued normally (ok insurance)
4000$ total from EU shop (ok insurance, I think)

Hi,

import fees can be pretty steep in Scandinavian countries. Denmark and Sweden have 25% VAT, Finland has 24%. Customs are regulated across all EU, sex dolls are 6.5% since last summer, and it's very rare that 30-50 kg are still accepted as "plastic mannequins" for 1.9%-4.5%. Calculate with 30-35% on top of price for item plus shipping costs; enjoy if they charge you less.

If you go through an EU vendor, it makes payments easier for you, the can clear the import procedure for you, and you get an additional option for controlled shipping. Vendors get discounts from the manufacturers and have lower shipping rates than DS, but they will be always more expensive than purchasing directly from the factory, because they bear the risk of loss and damage during shipping and customs inspections.
