How to avoid/clean TPE-discoloration caused by kissing?

Post by Dani24 »

Hi,

As a result of a lot of kissing a discoloration of the whole mouth area occured. As you can see in the picture.
I enhanced the picture a little to accentuate the discoloration a bit more. This is a DH168 TPE doll.

This is definitely caused by kissing which we do a lot.
I often disinfect her (internal) mouth with 3% hydrogen peroxide and a cotton swab, and clean the lips and surrounding with baby-oil.
I also treated the mouth-area with vaseline and left it a few hours without touching and kissing hoping there would be a 'protection-layer'.

But it seems not enough.
Can anybody please give some advise how to clean / avoid this?

Many thanks in advance,
Dani

If there is a way to avoid and fix this, I would also like to know that because I have several heads that have this same discoloration.

Too many kisses me too!
Cheers! :glou:

I've had this problem with most of my dolls. I've seemed to have avoided it with Josie so far. I've had her a year and a half, and no discoloration yet. She is also my favorite doll to kiss. The only thing I've done different is that I wipe her mouth and nose with a wet cloth after every "session". I also avoid eating anything, and wash my face, before we have fun together. I assume it is the oils from my face that have caused this discoloration. So I try to always have a clean face before I kiss her. No discoloration yet. It has either worked, or WM has a more resilient TPE that isn't as prone to this type of discoloration.

Personally, I have difficulty understanding this phenomenon because I have a lot of doll heads (34) and there are approx 10 discolored. :?

Sometimes I suspect my aftershave balm but I don't have enough proof to formally accuse it! :evidence:
