New, but a bae on the way

As the header says, hey all, I'm new. I'm a nonbinary queer who prefers the single life but decided that I still wanted to enjoy the companionship of a partner. I've collected BJDs since I was 15 and now 15 years later I'm practically buying a life size BJD. I feel like I shouldn't be surprised that as soon as I realized companion dolls were an option I practically bought one the same day.

Anyways, I'm nervous, excited, and tirelessly researching while waiting for my doll to arrive (est 6/2) and there is usually no better source of information than the community, so here I am. Excited to meet you all!

To kick this off, would any of you be open to sharing a favorite memory of your first doll? =D

Sorry, don’t know the term.

My first memory, rather first reall happy moment, was putting on her first outfit. Nothing fancy, just a $12 floral knee length deal and some “fashionable” combat boots.

I dont think I'm allowed to post url's yet so without linking it I went with Alex from SpartanLover. I wish I knew the manufacturer but I haven't found it yet and it isn't listed on the site. That makes me slightly nervous but the vendor reviews I found were all favorable so I'm hopeful.

And yeah, ball jointed dolls arose from a popularity boom in japan, china and s. korea. They are known for more posability and movement, almost exactly like these ones. A lot of dolls I've seen even look simply like upscaled BJDs. The one I bought does for sure. ^^

Hello and welcome!
I wish the SpartanLover website would post the weight of those 140 cm boys. I am curious how much less it would be compared to my 160 cm man.
My favorite first memory of my life size doll, besides how cute he is, is thinking that he was made just for me and would be here as long as I needed him to be.

I am also a fan of BJD's. Just started getting into that about 2 years ago. I have only six currently (including my three Smartdolls). I am trying to not collect a ton of them. I would pass out if there was a life sized version of my favorite BJD as he is incredibly gorgeous in my opinion. Here is a pro photo of him
