It is with a very heavy heart that I write this tribute to our friend, Mannequin Man. I was busy with personal matters and had just learned of his passing through a phone call from my close personal friend, Casquetero. I cannot believe this as MM and I have been very close over the last few years. He had shared his passion with me on his various projects and I was always so happy to offer suggestions and moral support when I could. He was an incredibly genuine person and will be sorely missed. He shared with me personal and professional concerns and it was an honor to be part of his life for the time I knew him. I so wanted to meet with him here in NY or in Muncie, Indiana but life got in the way as it happens and we never met in person but nonetheless shared a close personal bond through frequent emails and phone calls. The world has lost a true artist and even greater person. May God rest his soul and I hope to meet him one day in the next life and thank him for making my life a whole lot brighter for having him as a part of it and a part of this great community of ours. RIP my brother.

Dear friends & followers of MM. This is D., MM's RGF. I just wanted to take this time to say thank you for everyones emotional & spiritual uplifting for me & his loved ones here at home. we are getting ready to head east to Annapolis, MD. with one of the service ships awaiting to perform his burial at sea. please be patient with us in this time, when we get back we will provide a dedication to MM asap. I have spoke with MM's good friends, Alexa Tilbrook & Robbyd & informed them, as I am now the rest of you, upon our return, we have decided to commission an artist / sculptor to do our best to finish the build on "Victoria". I was never a big follower of the interest in Love Dolls myself, until MM drew me in & introduced me to such a fantastic interest & hobby. I had no idea that so many people, young & old alike & all walks of life, are proud owners of such. being with MM for 12yrs., I always told him that he took too long to make things. he was hindered by this in some ways, but with MM,....perfect or ...aint gonna float,..as he would say. having only 1 wax casting of the original sculpt, we are donating that to a local studio. I really believe MM would want this for all of you. I want to do this not only because of his passion, but I cant see a dream go into the mist if i can help it. the body type MM sculpted, ..yes, it might not be everyones cup, but I know he had a following. one thing that always touched my heart was that he always said that all of you were like his extended family. MM did not have it easy in life. he suffered 2 divorces, had his children took from him, paid forced child support ( of which i know some can relate, etc. also, a matter that few people know, he dealt with personal issues. he was in a very bad wreck years ago that took out an eye, ruptured optic nerve, on life support, the whole 9 yards. he dealt with pain & vision issues until his passing. the injury he suffered had grew scar material & such in a delicate area, he would sometimes have breathing issues & mini seizures when he would get upset or exert himself too much. we believe that over time, since the wreck in 1997, this is what caused his final seizure. forgive me, I know some could care less, but for you who were wondering, i wanted to enlighten you why this happened. he was 54. Thank you for everyones prayers, thoughts & comments. Alexa & Anung un Rama, you made me cry with tears of appreciation for the video dedications....Thank you ! ....Thank ALL of you for supporting & I will stay in touch & keep up with you all. If according to TDF Rules, etc. I need to create my own account, I will do so & notify you who I am.....Peace & Love D

D, thanks for enlightening me with that! And with that I am VERY deeply saddened on how it abruptly ended his life. I kinda knew about the wreck that made him legally bind but I never knew that it also caused him seizures. I knew he always cleared his throat every thirty seconds or so (okay, slightly exaggerating...) which I didn't mind after a while...

And yes, he was a perfectionist... I remember you and MM always nitpicking about it... :haha4: But all joking aside, most artists are that way. I'm that way too, in some sort of sense... If one line of code in any program I write, while it may not puke out an ?SN ERROR (Tandy [Radio Shack] Color Computer Extended Color BASIC) or a compile error or whatever error, I'd rewrite it until it looks good. Also, sometimes when I'm working in Kdenlive, and there's a slightly nagging thing in the edit timeline that is even one or two frames in length (about 1/30th of a second), even while I'm rendering it, I will abort the render, fix the thing, play the fixed part over and over in the Kdenlive monitor until I'm satisfied... then when I am... THEN I hit the "Render" button.

Debian (the distribution of Linux Ubuntu is based upon) is that way too... Unlike Ubuntu which has a fixed 6-month release schedule, Debian is only released when it is virtually bug-free.

There's this old quip about Debian that was said somewhere on the #debian IRC channel eons ago...
Look. This is Debian. They won't release it until you have to fire nuclear missiles to stop the damn machine...
However, the attribution escapes me. If anyone knows who said it, let me know!

But D, you're welcome to come by anytime to my place to chat... I can meet you at the library... and MM is in mine and my church's (Urban Light Community Church of Muncie) prayers; and not a night goes by when Jessi, Daphne and I thank MM for what he's done... especially for bestowing Daphne to me. I know he didn't want to sell her or give her away, but he knew that I would benefit greatly from her. And I cry upon her shoulder every night missing MM... I even dedicated my last Kdenlive video project to him...
