Problem with Read/ Unread Posts
In the list of threads, each thread has an icon on the left side that indicates whether the thread has any unread posts. Then on the left side of the thread title there is an arrow which the user can click on to go to the first unread post. These are great features and were working fine until a few days ago. However, the site no longer recognises when I have read a thread completely or even if I have read a particular post. It is driving me crazy because the arrow keeps telling me there are new posts but when I go to check there are no new posts. If I click the arrow it takes me to a post and if I navigate back to the same arrow it just takes me back to the exact same post.
Any ideas how to fix this?

I have adjusted my privacy settings so that dollforum.com can always use cookies, but it made no difference.

You could try marking all the forums read by clicking on "Mark forums read" in the top right of the Unread Posts page.

Re: Problem with Read/ Unread Posts
I marked all the forums read as you suggested which cleared all the existing posts. However I still have the problem for new posts. Do you have any more ideas?

It's possible an update changed something in the browser, what you could try is putting the forum in "compatibility view", see if that helps.
Or you could move on to a different browser like Firefox, Opera or Google Chrome, and be done with Microsoft's antics.

I tried Firefux and it froze up my entire system. Even my computer repairman couldn't unlock it; he finally had to wipe the entire hard drive and reload the OS and my programs. Fortunately I had most of my files backed up. Lesson learned!

Compatibility View solved the problem - thank you. What a relief!
And yes - I had installed some MS Windows updates a few days ago that very likely did change something in the browser.
