Pages say "no users currently in chat", when there definitely is. Means chat is even deader than normal, since hardly anyone enters chat when they think it's empty...
I had trouble logging on last night, got no response the first try, worked on the second attempt. Tried this afternoon, same problem. And when I did get to enter chat, the index page said there were no chat users. Who is the resident Forum wizard who fixes this kind of stuff?
strange... how exactly do you restart the chat server anyway? The forum shows how many connections there are to the chat server, but not the users in chat. the table that holds that info is empty. So the chat thingy isnt populating that data table. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what updates that, and why its not updating it.
I terminated the chat from the OS itself; commandline, then restarted it (from commandline, using normal init scripts), and it seems to be reporting logged in users correctly now.
I would advise any frequent chatters (or newbies) to check out the chat to see if anyone is actually there, rather than taking the forum's word for it that there are "no users currently in chat"
GFE.. did you restart chat recently? I think for some reason if you restart via the admin panel thingy, it doesnt work right.. but if you restart from commandline on the server itself (/etc/init.d/fcserver restart) it does work... So I'm guessing the admin panel doesnt call the same init script, which is also quite strange. Theres apparently two different wheels for the "same" thing. (i.e. re-inventing the wheel).
perhaps the next version of flashchat will fix it?
