It's a real pleasure seeing you happy with a handsome man like this. And he does look like the sort of guy one sees in the south of France too.

Chloé hasn't met any men like her, so Aqua's guaranteed a social life if ever he wants to get out and explore. She's pleading with me to bow to pressure from friends to give her an outing or two during the Festival and looks for any excuse for adventures.

He's a great bloke. Congratulations!

Best wishes

Thanks Harem, seriously i would love to do that, but I can't, for many reasons.
Many things in my life do not allow me anymore to do this, it's too much risks for me now. Unfortunately.

Plus, i don't want to do ''hard'' photoshoots like i did before, with this doll,
there is no Realdoll doctor here in France. Sorry.

it's a thing i would like so much to do again but, at least i can watch Chloé's adventures here on the forum. Say to her that i thank her for the invitation.

Chloé thanks you for your greetings and promises to try to keep you entertained :-)

And yes, outings do pose dangers for dolls. You'll probably have seen a few of Chloé's mishaps and visits to her clinician for joint tightenings and other repairs. Aqua's too young to expect that sort of attention.

The worst thing is when one is manipulating her on the floor and passers-by stop their cars to get on the phone to call an ambulance. ;-)

Yes i have seen, and yes Aqua is new, in perfect condition, i wish to keep him like this for a very long long time. Anyway I prefer to keep him safe at house, or in my small studio near the sea. To afraid to break him.

Yes , i can imagine. The worst thing that happened to me was at Nice, on the promenade des anglais, two drunk men were there during all my photoshoot, it was so unpleasant. And i was scared.

Best wishes
Blou.

Yes - I can imagine. Last summer I was working with a film crew who took me to a place I would never have gone to on my own shoot, and they were slow - one has to be quick. A woman with "issues" called the police who followed the film director and cameraman and I into a cafe and grabbed me and dragged me out and were very rough. They wanted to see my photos. I was frightened they would break my camera. After seeing the photos they didn't find what they had been led to believe I was doing, whatever that was.

Not everyone understands dolls and one has to be careful and sure of what one's doing when doing such shoots. Aqua will certainly feel more secure quietly at home until he finds his feet.

Best wishes

''Until he finds his feet ''? not sure to understand, one thing i like about dolls is that they don't move, and they always stay at home. I'm not into robotic and AI, this kind of stuff is interesthing, but i don't want it.

Yes it's risky to take a doll outside, sometimes i dream about going everywhere i want with my doll, like it was a normal thing in our society, like everyone has dolls and like it was usual and common, but it's just a dream.

Maybe i'll go to a doll meeting. I want to do that someday.

"Finding one's feet" is an English expression which is metaphorical rather than specific to Aqua standing up. "If you say that someone is finding their feet in a new situation, you mean that they are starting to feel confident and to deal with things successfully."

Taking a doll somewhere is possible. My experience is that one can do so provided one exudes confidence, as if it was a perfectly normal thing to do, with a professional demeanor.

So on the occasion you might have seen where Chloé gatecrashes a Cannes Film Festival party, it's a matter of carrying her in
Image
and saying "Hello! This is Chloé - she's a celebrity" as if it was the most ordinary thing in the world for a celebrity to be carried into a party.

It has to be done in the manner of a bit of a conscious performance.

Likewise at her birthday party at the Beau Rives hotel in Juan les Pins, a table had been booked for 12 and with friends behind me I walked in carrying her announcing to the reception "Hello! This is Chloé - it's her birthday!" The receptionist's response was "Hello Chloé". In more mundane situations, such as the scene at the motorway service station, or at the bar opposite the Juan Casino, if explanation is required one simply says "This is Chloé and I write stories".

So perhaps this might give you encouragement and confidence to do things. During the Cannes Festival it's even easier as everyone is used to stunts of one type or another on the Croisette. Another good time to do things is the last week of October or first week of November when things are still open and people are bored and willing to engage in a sense of humour.

A big smile on one's face and working quickly and efficiently gets one a long way. One mustn't dawdle - as was my problem working with the film company - be professional about what one's doing and clearly there for the purpose of taking photographs in the situation or place.

What one must not do is to evoke the "Lars and the Real Girl" image of a person in love with a fantasy of the opposite sex on the assumption of being incapable of relating with another human being.

But this is only possible with a doll that one knows to be robust enough to work with and which one knows one can carry out appropriate repairs if necessary. It's also possible for me because Chloé is of a weight that I can carry still with a spring in my step. Whilst Brigitte's Hubbie has done the wheelchair trip with Brigitte out and about, I would not want to work with my doll with the wheelchair image.

Perhaps in the above there might be encouragement and ideas. When one succeeds it's most invigorating, and as well as bringing the doll to life, gives an extra boost to one's own life.

But it's not an immediate step to take and one that is only possible when one knows how the doll behaves and finds the character that he wants to express.

Best wishes,

Harem

To Hollows and Chris: if i don't go this year, it will be next year, i have to prepare, i'll have to get the adress to see if it's possible to go with a car, if not i'll take the plane without Aqua, but i will try to go with Aqua if I can. I don't want to miss this event in my life :D It will be fun :) And nice to meet you too :)

To Harem: Yes i perfectly understand what you are doing, and how to do that, i've done this before. But now i can't anymore. And i just want to live in peace alone with my doll, and share my love for dolls with friends. It's enough for me. :)

Of course, and I have always credited you with the inspiration that you have given and hope that despite your current circumstances the continuing of what was your inspiration will bring a smile to your face.

If you come to the UK meet by car I'm on the way and others drop in to see me often on the return. If you would like to join them and visit with them you'll be welcome.

Best wishes
