Neck Bolt

Hey does anyone know where to get a new neck bolt to tighten up the head of a realdoll 2? (or can I buy something similar at a home hardware store?)

It's a quarter inch bolt and nut that goes through a bracket on the head and the neck stump on the upper spine. You need a ratchet extension and a 7/16" socket x2... ( 11 mm for you metric fans) to be able to access the bolt and nut where the neck and head attach. You need one for the bolt to hold the bolt and one for the nut to tighten it up. I'm assuming here that the neck is just loose and needs tightening up. If you need a bolt and nut 7/16" x 1 1/2 " should do it..... You need two flat washers as well. You can buy them at Home hardware... Canadian eh?? Or Canadian Tire... Home Depot... Lowes...Rona ... You name it.. You weren't very specific as to what the problem is so I'm just guessing..

OK.For anybody who has this problem and wants to know. Here is a quick tutorial. These aren't my usual mediocre pics so you have to bear with the poorer quality. Sorry about that.

This will also work on Boytoy Girls as well.

With the head attached... you need to pull back the silicone around the neck just behind the ear. Just pull it back. It's very pliable. No need to cut.

You need to pull it back so you can insert the required tooling. 2 7/16" Sockets. 1/4" Drive is ideal. You can use 3/8" drive as well. What ever you have...Every man has some tools... Right... Just say right!!! And of course all the ladies know what I'm talking about!!

Tighten until you get the proper tension that you want.Remember... Lefty loosey ... Righty Tighty

Remove the tools and just tuck the silicone back where it was... Your done..
Use this same procedure on Boytoy Girls as well!

I'm not trying to treat anyone like a idiot here by some of my comments.. Some people just don't know.It's that simple.

Just a Note ...

Not all Boy Toys can be tightened this way. Matt switched to a pressed in fitting at one time that can Not be tightened ... Not sure of the dates but my late BT2 2011 is like this, there are threads regarding. Don't know but I imagine that if the BT3's are back to bolts they all are now.

Just a note for some that want to tighten that pesky press fitting, grwwwol. It can be drilled out and bolted. Takes some work, some skill and tools but may be worth it to some.

For the record, no one has gone to the effort you have to show RD's skull tech. Much appreciated here.
