Honeymoon of doom

Post by DollJuan »

Hi everyone!

On Friday, the big day was finally here: Fedex delivered my new WM 156 C Doll. And i was in Heaven.

But i managed to tear her knee already on the first weekend. She doesn't even have a name yet, and her knee is already damaged. That's a very bad start. And she's mad at me.

And the biggest Problem now is that the TPE glue was taken by the customs.

So please help me fix her knee.

Does anyone know the name of a working TPE glue that can be bought in germany or switzerland?

Maybe the relationship can still be saved ;)

Wow dude that sucks. I know how you feel though. I hurt Hotaru's right elbow somehow in the first week i got her. :( And now its super loose. I dropped her for the first time yesterday too. She made me pay for it not long after. :whistle: I made it up to her, and shes forgiven me at this point. :D

Thank goodness it's not serious

For that I would use some TPE (a snippet from the insert is a good source) dissolved in Xylene

Best wishes

I have the same problem and simply used the glue the manufacturer WM supplied , but now she cannot do doggy style on her knees anymore so I just put her in high heels with steel foot plates on her feet which I designed and all is good from behind again and actually more comfortable and really hot in standing position with her bending over a contertop or table or whatever is around :razz:

Thank you for the advice and emotional support ;)
I contacted indogo20 for his repair kit which seems to be awesome! But unfortunately for my current situation, there is no TPE glue in this kit. It focuses on filling entire holes in the material rather than fixing small tears, for which the normal tpe glue is used.

Does anyone know of a working TPE glue that can be bought in a do it yourself store?

Well, I could be mistaken, but if you use minimum amounts of his TPE after applying his preparer it should work as well.

You could try this which George posted a while back:-

viewtopic.php?f=257&t=81004

I've had some success doing that but I also got a temperature controlled heat gun which is great! Manufacturers use it to seal in the nipple colours etc I believe! It's a Digital 858D SMD Hot Air Soldering Rework Station and cost me less than £30 new off eBay. You can control the temp at around 100C with a low air flow to seal stuff and I used around 180C to gently melt the TPE around Ashaki's foot and elbow cuts. If anyone is thinking about buying one if you have a piece of TPE it's probably best to try it with that first though!

Cheers, Hollows.

And keep the cut clean. If you keep dust and other stuff away from the cut until you get the gear you need to fix it you won´t even be able to see it when it´s fixed.

For me this looks like a clear candidate for the TPE. So do your best to get a hold of it somehow, or Indigo´s kit.

@hollows+fentiman
Thanks a lot for the videolink! George's tutorial is great an looks perfect for sealing of small tears. Nevertheless i'd like to glue it since it seems too deep for me to just close the surfeace.

@mandos
You mean clear case for TPE glue? I think so too... The glue is on the way and i will carefully protect the tear from any dust.

And if i mess up the surface somehow, i know now a great trick! :) the only thing i worry about is using too much glue. I knwo about the right technique, that it is very important to not just put it on both sides, as this would just eat out the tpe and make the hole bigger. So i will make sure to find a way to close it at the same time i apply the glue.

What do you guys think, how is this done in the best way? Using toothpicks?

Cheers

If her knee looks whole when bent into a straight position, all that is needed is a tiny amount of solvent on a toothpick. Clean the cut with isopropyl rubbing alcohol before you repair it.

I Concur !! If the tear is a wee bit bigger, try using an artist's brush. As for a Solvent, Xylene will do the job nicely. -- Remember, keep it clean!
