What do you think, should we have our own for our 12 inch beauties??

Limited to 12 inches or shorter  ??

i think contests should be banned they only seem to foster bad feelings in those that either lose or don't get many votes. it would be better to just have a fun thread to show off your dolls no contest just for fun.

Well, I voted yes because I would like to see it, but truthfully it could be problematic due to lack of participation as we mini owners are a tiny minority here. Having said that, I do think there would be more participation than the GIF contest, and it might even encourage a few to get a mini, even if it's just a Barbie to compete. Also, the height limit should be 24" to allow Tonner and 1/3 scale IMO. I would make an effort to enter every month just to keep the thing going.

I have two opinions on this. First of all I think it would be a good idea to have a category just for the small dolls for those who like to enter a competition.
Secondly I don't normally enter competitions because if I won I would then have to be committed for another entire month to run the competition and I don't want that pressure. I have too many other comitments to deal with.
So as suggested previously it would also be nice just to start a thread for people to enjoy and show off their pictures without the pressure of competitions.

Thanks OZ and this would be more in-house, non sanctioned, clandestine, under the table - they are short anyway, maybe even immoral 8O type of contest.

I have mix feeling about this too. The main question would be with what aspect do we judge the contest? Facial beauty? Body beauty? Costume beauty? Not many of us design our own doll heads or make our own doll body or made our own doll dresses. Most of us just buy dolls off the shelf. So what makes your Barbie less beautiful than mine?

If it's about photographing then we can enter the regular photo contest, although no small dolls seems to have won ever?

I think may be a thread like "Let's showcase our small dolls in outrageous costumes" might be more interesting.

And I would suggest raising the height to one meter to include MS Barbie and BJDs and even DS minis, which is more just a silicone BJD.

Now I am beginning to see why this is like herding cats...lol

Then I would be faced with choosing who to enter.....leaving a bunch of pissed of munchkins with sharp weapons at their disposal....

I now see the mini is starting to get more respect, partly thanks to you DD, but I also see them as the lowest level of full sized dolls JMHO. But like I said...meow

Not to going off-course with this thread, I suggest to include the mini is because they are quite accurately scaled down, or can be seen as scaling up of a Phicen 1/6 doll. And there are also other mini dolls like Poppy Parker. The styles of mini dolls are much diverse than full size dolls IMHO.

I voted for monthly. There are so many communities within the Forum, they all deserve recognition and an environment that fosters ideas.

Can't wait to see what you all accomplish!

My suggestion: For the first year, do astrological themes as each star sign begins: Leo, Aries, etc. It'd open up lots of creative possibilities!

Good luck!

I don't think a contest would bring more votes, but perhaps something like a calendar girl threads on an going basis. You can post at anytime on any months as often as you want, the only requirement is to flaunt it, we have the perfect dolls for photography, might as well show off lol. And oh !! A diorama thread would be cool too unless there not enough of us yet.

If minis had their own category, the winners would decide the themes and rules each month. We can already post them any time we want.

Begog has hit the nail on the head. The key phrase to this whole issue is "Non Sex Dolls".

24 inches or less!

If you can not stick your finger into your dolls pussy, she is in! If you can put your finger into your dolls pussy, you are in but she is out!!
