Re: MannequinFan Has Done it Again!!
I guess the latest version must be working OK.
With that said, I think the M6 covers are ready to go.
TT, I can't list prices or advertise sales here as I am not a vendor.timetraveler1 wrote:MannequinFan after you test these , any chance of giving a price to make some for others .
For those with dolls that have the M6 screws and are interested in a set of these, just send me a PM for more info.

Re: MannequinFan Has Done it Again!!
The new design that MF created resists cracking of the spring section, which made them much more durable. If your doll is wearing shoes while standing, I foresee no problems with the screw caps.
The caps fit tightly, so I would recommend the following for installation:
1) place the caps in hot tap water for a few minutes
2) Using your finger, lubricate the screw head with a little dish soap
3) Push the cap on with thump pressure, keeping the cap "straight". Do not push them on at an angle.
I have to give MF an "A" on this one!

I solved the problem with other screws.
Maybe this helps:

Hey Barbydoll that looks like a good solution as well.Barbydoll wrote:I had the same problem when my doll was new.

My only thought is that the curved head shape may still put a great deal of pressure at a small point eventually causing damage to socks or hosiery, but if it's working then that's great!
The metric carriage bolts probably won't be available at local stores here in the U.S., but they can be purchased online from places like McMaster-Carr...

Re: MannequinFan Has Done it Again!!
Even if the shoes are the proper size and tight-fitting, the feet, being soft, will deform and slide down the slope of the shoe unless the shoes are taller than the ankle, and fit tightly to the ankle and leg. Even at that, it is a risky proposition and foot damage may result, caps or no caps. The caps will grip the shoe, and the foot will migrate forward, and could result in damaging or breaking a cap or caps, or even damage a foot.
The other issue with trying to stand a TPE doll in high heels is rolling over of the foot in the shoe, which can also result in breaking a cap or caps. I have stood Sanae in low heels, and it was very difficult to keep the feet from rolling over. I almost gave up, but I was determined to do it. Even with low heels, it takes at least two people to stand a TPE doll in heels with minimum risk, one to support the weight of the doll, and one or two to stabilize the feet and shoes. Even at that, multiple attempts must be made with positioning to get the balance correct so she can stand with minimal support. The best way to attempt this is by using a doll stand. I have had no issues with flat shoes or tightly fitting boots with low heels. Sanae has small feet, and I have to buy big kid's size 1-1/2 US to fit her properly.

Re: MannequinFan Has Done it Again!!
I did get her to stand in low square heels I lay my doll on the bed then plant her feet on the floor with her knees bent (she has a loose right knee joint) and pick her up straight forward while my knees are pressed up against hers. Her legs need to be as close to each other as possible. Hope this helps anyone else

Re: MannequinFan Has Done it Again!!
So here's version 3 of the M6 screw cover that should address some of the problems with V2.
The shape has been changed so that all the flexing now occurs in the top of the cap instead of on the sides. The sides are thicker and much stronger and the conical shape should resist anything getting under them and popping them off. Here's a little demo YouTube video I just made.

ILoveFems will be the first to test these out.
