Re: RK's official mannequin Nikki build / small doll test.
My idea is to use a mannequin head "not Nikki's modified one" and make a hard cast shell of that. Probably a 2-pc front and back half. I will then press warm clay into the shell halves then put it in the fridge to cool and firm up. Hopefully I can remove the 2 halves of clay and join them smoothly back together on an armature so I can do some sculpting mods. Once I have the new sculpt done I'll make a silicone mold of that to cast a silicone head.
Just a couple days of work!
I would like to cast the heads w/a hollow neck piece to use on mannequins or cloth dolls. Attachment methods will vary depending upon the doll body. I proposed this in another thread, but didn't get much response.

Sometimes a little less is more in certain areas.
Like the adult film star Stoya, build for speed

I'm going for the petite, hard body look. I will have to make a doll a little bustier than Nikki to be commercially successful. I think something similar to Tiffany Hopkins should do.
Stoya is A1! Had to look her up again as I've been out of porn viewing for awhile. Reminds me of Sasha Grey too. She's a fine little hotty.
Here is a head that I think would make a cute 18 yo woman.
They only sell these as a 2 pack, but I may still order them.
One of the good things about the Nikki head is it already has a partially open mouth. I did not realize this when I bought it so it worked out to give her some teeth.

I think the whole project turned out very nicely.
That plastic head does look cute. Where did you find them?
BTW, on the subject of faces and heads, I found another distraction to keep me from finishing my projects...
FaceGen modeller.

Been playing around with this the past few days.
You won't believe what you can do with this. Gonna post a thread on it later.

Nikki turned out better than I ever planned or expected her too! LOL
The heads are at: http://buystoreshelving.com/female_head ... /index.htm
As I'm wanting to make a 18 yo doll around 4' 9" I have to watch how big the heads are. I got lucky that Nikki's looks OK on her. I'm afraid to order some of the more mature, fuller lipped model heads as they may need to go on a 6' tall amazon.
Yeah, I saw a link to that Face Generator on another thread, but was afraid to even get into that! LOL
There are some faces I would love to have a model of. Can you print out faces w/ your printer?
I know the Face Gen system needs clear front and side view pics.
Looking forward to your new thread on this.

The only down side is you have to buy the program ($300) to export the mesh files.
The really cool thing is that once you get the model generated there are 39 different morphs that can be combined to make just about any facial expression you can think of. The models also have a mouth cavity, tongue and a simple surface to define the teeth.
I made an Angelina Jolie face that turned out looking pretty good...
