hey there, may I know what body type you are into?coffee wrote:Both Mark81 and Dollinger have valid points.
I had several dolls picked and could not decide. 6YE doesn't have the body type I like and was not on my radar but I might compromise and get a 6YE skeleton, since all my picks, had something I didn't like and some aspects I really really like anyways.

Re: New 6YE Doll Skeleton (Patented ball-joint design)
knowing how it exactly works
and fail to see what this doll is supposed to be, this theoretical discussion is nearly obsolete.
Otherwise i would call it, an act of pomposity.
Even if you know and maybe get a look, how this ball-joint works, you should be able to compare this with the standard skeleton. If you don't, it might not really helpful.
Since over the last years, you can hear constantly a big shouting for a better skeleton. To stiff joints, to fast loosen, poking & broken wires or dislocated fingers. It's getting better in some ways, but only in small steps. Additionally a lot of doll owners were crying cause of the heavy weight.
Instead of developing, WM and later the other competitors throw one curvy big doll after another on the market with big boobs & butts and even more weight.
Customers forget their complaining and buy. Problems aren't solved. The massive weight creates even more problems with handling, care maintenance, physical problems and injuries. First owners begin to sell their dolls, although they were warned.
6YE is different. They developed this amazing skeleton, that solved most of the big problems instantly.
They use a very nice, soft and durable TPE mix that even has a very pleasant smell. The weight for their big dolls is good to handle. New neck joint & head connector.
Reseller policy is exemplary... Forum activity and communication of vendor & manufacturer in this short period is matchless.
Now, they were asked : Can you go bigger? How is it with joints in the fingers? What's with movement of the shoulders? Standing option without screws?
Unbelievable...
Re: New 6YE Doll Skeleton (Patented ball-joint design)
Please judge from position of first buyer. How can I have practical use of the skeleton if I haven't ever had a doll? But besides owners reviews I know what I want. And this nice place TDF gives opportunity to discuss it with manufacturers.Dr Dollinger wrote:Without practical use of the skeleton, knowing how it exactly works
Unbelievable that people willing for more? That's called progress. Several lines above you were complaining about non-demanding audience btw.Dr Dollinger wrote:Now, they were asked : Can you go bigger? How is it with joints in the fingers? So I can't say that 6Ye's skeleton is quite innovative. Patented ball joints, yeah, great...
How can you judge something, what you even don't know?
How can you judge, the skeleton isn't innovative, when you never own a doll and even don't know how the skeleton practically works?
How can you speak from cheap chinese dolls, when you never got one? And when you think like that, then why are you still here?
Sounds more like self esteem
then a constructive discussion

Re: New 6YE Doll Skeleton (Patented ball-joint design)
1. I don't think there's any debate still going on about hinged wrists vs wires, but the jury's still out on beefed up wire fingers vs hinged finger joints. Jeff, from BCD, is pretty adamant (I would think with advice from Samara 78) against current finger joint development (as in actual joints). Is the technology available for improvement? Absolutely.
2. Gonna open the back curtain here. Doll manufacturer to wire manufacturer:
"We need enough wire at such-n-such diameter at X amount of meters (or feet), and we need it for the next X years. "
Wire Mfr to Doll Mfr: "OK, we can do that. Sign this contract for the X amount of years, and we'll supply you with what you want at the the price we agreed upon in negotiations."
I'm thinking with the commitment 6JY has made to truly advancing doll manufacturing, the latter is in place (they'll never say, because if it's true, it'd be disastrous to them to admit it). So everyone, the race is on, and perhaps the first Mfr to come to the end of it's wire contract may be able to patent and modernize the wrists & fingers.
Keep your chin up, and keep the pressure on to improve our doll experience.

Re: New 6YE Doll Skeleton (Patented ball-joint design)
I'm absolutely not against any further development.
I'm also not really satisfied with only wired wrists solutions (especially when there is no rotation on the wrist)
But, speaking from the experience with my 6YE doll. I did not have any injuries with fingers, dislocated wires or broken wrists. Hands feeling still great!
Even Jeff is saying, that the major issues on the hands come from dislocated wires of the hinge.
On only wired wrists these issues never occur. So it depends only on the quality of the wires and the connection between wires and wrists.
Best solution for me would be a ball joint design for the wrist, which can hold the weight of the doll, good quality wires for the fingers with something like a small cap on the end, that protects from poking through the skin.
Im pretty sure 6YE is aware of that and they are still working on a new design with a ball-joint in the wrist.
On new jinsan dolls the wires for the fingers are so massive, that i couldn't even imagine how they should break.
If a finger joint break, you may not even use the finger anymore. Wires are far more flexible.
Finger-joints would raise the costs immensely. The technical implementation isn't so easy
viewtopic.php?f=87&t=86798&hilit=Finger+joint&start=0
From a technical view, joints which feel like bones, sounds very tempting - that's for sure...
Maybe the customer could decide which design he likes to choose. Normal - with wires. Or premium - with joints in the fingers. What costs more money
Re: New 6YE Doll Skeleton (Patented ball-joint design)
Cute dolls.
Re: New 6YE Doll Skeleton (Patented ball-joint design)
I am hoping that the new ball joint , on the 6ye skeleton will also improve on this , thus adding to the longevity of our dolls
As for the fingers , the addition off end caps on the finger wires , would go a long way to improving the hands , and would not cost that much to implement .
I am not sure but I think I read some where that 6ye are using thicker wires for the fingers now.
And maybe the addition of wires for the toes might also help

Thanks Stacystacy718 wrote:Have you updated the wrists to allow them to rotate yet?
Cute dolls.
No, my 6YE doll Jazzmine is outdated a bit..
She has the old wrist design, with wrist rotation. That makes her hands some floppy.. But i like that
New design isn't floppy anymore. But rotation is gone
So, my doll is very special
