While I don't have any experience with a deluxe, my early production standard is the best thing I have EVER cuddled. Certainly better than any other doll. I only have a deluxe, so I can't give you any direct comparisons, but it all comes down to what you want.

Do you want more than one? Or would this be replacing your Vicki (I don't know if she kept her name or maybe you renamed her)? If the later, well... this is just me, but I would never want to replace mine because I'm so attached to her. Even if another doll was better in some way it would be much too hard to ever get rid of her. She's become so special I'd never want another doll more than her.

Personally, I don't really want more than one doll either, but I think I'm probably in the minority there. If you want a deluxe as well, might as well go for it.
