PM sent to the OP - TDF Management likes to know what happened and we'll try to get things solved if mediation by TDF is accepted.

In a other post i just wrote that i found it a weird site that seems to be made by a 13yo boy. Very unprofessional in any kind of way. They show WMdoll pictures with their own name on it. They show real woman that make no sense at all. And i found a picture of a woman wich is probely photoshopped real or an 8000+ dollar highly detailed Real Doll.

I would report it to PayPal anyway. If mediation by TDF not solve it i would report to the police to.

I have been at the Candy8teen shop for the last 4 days trying to get things up and running. I do not see any Pam order outstanding.
Mike may be back after the holidays. He asked me to post on this form to let people know he is in Boston Ma. with his family where a couple friends where killed.

"Mike MAY be back after the holidays."
What? Is he taking off from Thanksgiving to Christmas? If he's still not rested, he might as well vacation until Easter then get back to it.

I will add my story to the litany of woes here. I've lurked here for a while, and registered primarily to voice my frustration. I placed my order for a C8T Small Doll on April 26th, when it was on sale for $190. I made my payment to one Sarah J----- via PayPal as requested. And waited. After about a month, I contacted the vendor and asked about when I would see my doll. I too got the runaround: we're backed up, will ship next week for sure. I continued to ping them with emails every three or four weeks and kept getting the same answer. After about three months, I threatened to cancel the order and was assured it would ship. Then came the excuses about a bad batch of materials, and more delays, and news of a change in ownership, and more delays. Eventually my time frame for restitution through PayPal timed out. I have basically written this off as a bad experience.

I get that this is a hobby operation...I run one myself, I understand the challenges. And I'm fully aware of the personal tragedy that has afflicted the one and only point of contact that C8T has for their customers and have appropriately expressed my sincere condolences to him personally. But at no point during this whole span of time (and I have the whole email thread archived) did I ever receive an order number to reference, or a confirmed shipping date, or a statement of which shipper I should expect to arrive let alone a tracking number. Only excuses. As an outside observer with a history in manufacturing, I see no evidence of even the most basic business controls being in place at Candy8Teen.

After all this, would I still like to receive my doll? Yes, if C8T would commit to it. Absent that, would I like the partial refund for a canceled order that was contractually agreed to when I placed my order? Yes, that would be acceptable too. But I won't be holding my breath.

End of rant...

I'm confused about this: C18 just being a hobby thing.

There are a few members here who have expressed interest in selling their cottage industry wares on TDF and were told by TDF administration that they must be a legitimate business. I assume at the minimum this requires a state sales tax number and possibly Federal IRS verification of DBA/ doing business as.

Anyone who has a website dedicated to selling their manufactured goods is a business.
Anyone that accepts payment for goods via mail order is a mail orders business.
Then why is C18 allowed to do business on TDF if they are just a hobby?

I say now that C18 had better get their act together fast as if enough people get together and file a interstate commerce fraud case against C18 it will not be good for them. Hope all of their sales records and proof of quarterly payments to the IRS are on file.

It is a hobby thing insofar as C8T isn't a regular day job for anyone involved in it; they do it on the side. There is a lot of cottage industry for various hobbies that are run in the same fashion. That said, it is IMHO incumbent upon the operators of any such cottage industry business to operate it in an efficient and above-board manner. I'm not getting that vibe from C8T, and I'm obviously not alone in that assessment.
