Silicone vs. TPE
It is pretty obvious, that TPE dolls are cheaper than silicone dolls. Just wondering aloud if this is really a deciding factor when people buy doll. However, there is also a perception that silicone is better. This is up to debate. But really, I would like your thought on some of you why you would prefer one over the other or even if it matters at all.
Thanks,

Re: Silicone vs. TPE
I love TPE dolls, but i will never buy another one until they improve their skeleton quality. Those finger wrists have got to go! repairing TPE dolls are also a pain in the butt depending on what are you repairing. A small repair is fine, but a larger repair is damn near impossible. That special *glue* they supply is terrible and most people don't know less is more when you use it. Yes silicone may not be a durable, but it's reliable regarding repairs. In the long run, i'd rather stick with a silicone. You get when you pay for with TPE dolls. That's my five cents.

Well said and from MY dealing with a TPE doll and vender I'd never buy one.puma uma wrote:Buddy, this topic has been brought you several times and harsh words have been said on here.

Regarding glue, I LOL when people buy the "special glue". It is so expensive, you can buy one at a local store. I used one before, can't recall but I know it is a 3M brand and cost about $7. I hear on some places they selling it for $20 for very little amount (2 clear small jar).
It also depends on if you are doing it right. I know a client who over flow the gap with glue and another did not correctly place the glue. But most do it OK. We never sell them the glue unless they insist.

Re: Silicone vs. TPE
And I think all TPE dolls are made in China, meaning no other manufacturer outside of China makes dolls with TPE. I do wonder why. One possible reason for this is that TPE is difficult to work as it's hot poured, and handling TPE can be dangerous to health of those working with it. (and safety regulations in China are not on par with regulations in the West). Sadly there's no way to know the circumstance of the factory workers making TPE dolls.
But, TPE being cheap means they're a cheap introduction to dolls. So someone who's on the sidelines wanting to try out owning a doll, a TPE might be a good "gateway" doll into more expensive silicone dolls.

I personally find tpe too soft!! The newer silicone is very soft! As far as price ? Z-one and Sanhui are competitive!

JM Doll is competitive as well and is a fine option.dollylamma wrote:I have both. Tpe stretches better but is prone to cutting!!

I think TPE and silicone are both good materials. Both materials are subject to numerous improvements that have occurred and to improvements that continue to occur. I'm glad that both options exist and appreciate the innovations in the technologies.

Re: Silicone vs. TPE
In regards to this OP question, TPE dolls have been around for 3 years or so right? They have been advanced so much that silicone dolls have in over a decade. Someone who does his homework will see how the TPE has an advantages over silicone. I had terrible experiences with silicone dolls in the past. I have received more value out of my TPE dolls than I ever than if I had bought a motorcyle or second car. The 3 TOP mfers are not cheap at all! WM, YL and OR are leading the way and the future of sex dolls is in TPE.
2016 is the YEAR of the TPE doll

Re: Silicone vs. TPE
The RD2 is still in perfect condition.
The Jinsan TPE doll I have has an armpit tear that I hope won't grow larger, and a vagina tear that I've already repaired once but can tell I'll need to repair again soon.
I'm not rough on either and I treat them both the same.
My understanding is that Jinsan TPE is the best TPE available. If that's the case, unless I got a junk doll (which I don't think I did), then from a durability standpoint there's just no comparison.

How you care for your doll is solely dependent on the owner.
