I found my way to this forum from a link on another vendor's website and I decided I would buy a doll for Black Friday. I had a month to go I read the forums every day. It became clear that 2 vendors on here were head and shoulders above the rest in customer service. I had been talking to Jeff through PMs on this forum. From day 1 he was the most helpful salesperson ever. His prices were the best I had seen but even if they weren't, I would have bought from Jeff anyway because of the service he gave. Eventually I sent him an E-Mail telling him I wanted to pull the trigger and buy a WM 163 with a #74 head and a YL Viola head. He took it from there.
He sent me a menu of options that were available and by this point I was pretty set on my choices except for skin tone. I had seen his posts and posts from George at X/S dolls showing the new TPE skin tones in various lighting. I still couldn't tell from the photos what I wanted. Jeff called me on the phone and we had a great conversation that night concerning options for the doll, what he thought would work, and helpful suggestions for options I had not seen on any websites, and then we spoke more of colors. I sent Jeff some pictures of real women with various levels of sun tan and told him the pics I liked and the ones I didn't. I asked him to pick the shade he thought matched what I wanted. He called it a blind date and said he would take care of it and boy did he. More on this later but I will say she came out absolutely perfect. I placed my order the night of November, 23.
So even with the delays in shipping that are going on right now I still had a doll at my apartment by Dec. 8. For those curious of the time frame, I ordered the doll on Thursday, Nov. 23 and she shipped on Dec. 5th. She traveled Fed Ex and I got a tracking number. I live alone in a basement apartment that opens to ground level in the rear of the building so I left a note on my door begging the delivery person to leave her out back by my sliding glass door and as luck would have it he did. I got a delivery confirmation on my cell phone during a lunch meeting and I left early to get home and drag the body inside before returning to work. Here is a photo of the box which I found laying on it's side:
You can see in this photo that the end of the box with the feet has busted open and some of the foam packing material is showing.
Here it is after I opened it up. Fantastic packing job.
You can see here that there is no damage to the feet thanks to the superb packing.
Here are the 2 heads I ordered. #74 on the left and "Viola" on the right.
I don't know what the green stuff is on her fingers but it came right off with some soft soap diluted in a bucket of water.
Here is #74 on the WM 163 body seated. She is a light tan color. She has pink pearlescent toe nails and green eyes. I will begin to refer to her by her new name, Sierra Summers.
Here is Sierra getting ready for a bath to wash off all of the road grime. You will notice the plastic bags over the feet to protect the standing feet from the water. I have also put on some cotton socks to soak up any water that gets in to prevent it from running right into the bolt holes. I will mention that I didn't fill up the tub with water. I mixed up a bucket of soapy water and used a sponge to soak it up and wring it out over her while I wiped her down with my hand. Then I did the same thing with clean water to wash off any soap left behind.
After the bath I dried her off with a super absorbent cloth that I bought from the automotive department. The Absorber It's the type for detailing cars so it doesn't leave lint. Then I rubbed on some Vaseline into the high stress areas of the groin, elbows, neck, knees, ankles, hands and feet. I rubbed her down with Johnson's Baby Oil everywhere else and when that dried (which did not take anywhere near as long as I thought so she must have been dry) I powdered her with baby powder and put on her body stocking.
Then we went to bed. It was cold that night and she felt like ice when I touched her. I thought that with all the covers over us my body heat would warm her up but it didn't. I bought an electric blanket yesterday and tried it over her and that helped some but she still doesn't feel as warm a live body.
Today I had to work all day so she stayed home to play some Playstation.
I have read many of your posts prior to purchase. I was thinking I read size 4 US somewhere but I bought some size 5 shoes and they seam to work pretty well.
