Indeed, the journey is the best partMondoon wrote:
Yes, thanks, she does have some lovely dresses from those early shots and I think I'd like to go back and photograph her in them again.
Still hanging in her wardrobe of course but the pink one in her first shoot is really nice. She has regularly used the LBD though.
I must admit I cringe a little at some of the early shots but it's been a fantastic learning process and for that I'm very grateful to dear Hanna.
Yes, I have thought about going back to some items too but then there are new ones in the closet so...
Thankssiliconefun wrote:A pleasure to review your tread, very nice shoots.
I like your Emma posts!!!

Emma and I try to share the computer time so we both get our post count up
BTW, I'm winning
Re: Time to meet Emma
Thanks Hollows. We appreciate the compliments !hollows+fentiman wrote:Lovely shots of Emma, Sofos! It's also great that you've explained how you've achieved them! It helps us all get better! I'm with you and Mondoon, though, the early photos I took of Ashaki are cringeworthy too! I just used a simple Olympus mini camera for those until I got my Nikon! However, you've both got so much better whereas I'm just gradually getting there - still so much to learn and not enough time to do it in!
Cheers, Hollows.
Yes, I try to briefly give some hints to aid in what to google after if not something more. I got some very valuable tips from members here in the start and then built on that using google and youtube!
Well, don't sell yourself short. I very much enjoy your photos and the portrait of Vivette this month is just breathtaking!
And there is development in your thread too!
The single biggest turning point in my "photo carer" was when I started using manual mode. Then I got in change and started realizing that the on board computer in the camera is pretty clueless about how I want the photo to look

First of all, I like very much how you present Emma to us spectators. Even if I dont comment that frequently I always follow your posts.Sofos wrote:Thanks Hollows. Your statement about the camera not knowing what you want gave me a smile. Even Nikon has not invented the mind reading camera yet.
I almost never use the automatic mode and no presets at all.
Are you using the Nikon software for processing the NEFs (Capture-NX-D)?

Yea, I'm pretty used to today's technology knowing better than me (like how google seems to know what I will search for before I know myself and so on) but we might have to give it a few years for the neural up-link to be invented before the camera catches up
I'm using the Nikon sw that came with the camera. But it's called viewNX 2
I also tried UFRaw. Probably better (= can do more) but too many options present at once for a beginner

I think the dark hair suits you better.
And that's coming from a blonde girl
Oh, and Erika says she loves that blue/white dress from a few pages earlier.
I have a Doll Album. There is also a thread of me, where pictures and stories of me can be found. And not to forget the thread where pictures and stories of my roommates and me are posted.

I have the same problem with the hair color and hair style with my dolls.
But what is important is that the combination of hair color, hairstyle and clothing is equally important.
Whatever she wears ... you have a very beautiful lady Sofos

Re: Time to meet Emma
I know, that dress is absolutely one of my favorites
And it was so tight all over. Just love it. I'm sure I will wear it again sometime
I'm happy you like me as brunette. I used to almost always wear my blond wig but lately I've been liking the brunette one more and more. Makes me look a bit more sophisticated I think
I'm sure I will alternate some in the future too!
Gotta go for now. Cya!
