SinsuaLuvr, Bri wanted to stay classy for this shoot haha. But if you're interested, the last photo of this set was submitted for the category A photo contest for July ("Just an Ass"). She peeled off her leggings for that shot; however, it might not be what you expect haha. I didn't post it here with the rest of the set because I didn't want to break the rules (photo entries can't be posted anywhere else on the forum).

Obin, you're right on the money regarding the APS-C sensor. Although I have the Sony a5100. I got that one over the a6000 because it had better video recording options, which was what I originally intended it to be used for. I was never much of a photographer, until Brianna came strutting along. At that point I knew I had to become a photographer for her. So, now that I've shifted to photos over video, I wish I had the hot shoe and e-viewfinder of the a6000. Guess there will be no off-camera flash shots of Bri, unless I can find a way to trigger one with the on-camera flash.

I do have a real framed poster on the wall behind Bri, but I digitally changed the poster that was inside it. So the frame you see is real, but the poster is not haha.

I didn't go with the standing feet option. I wanted to be able to photograph the bottoms of her feet for some shots without having to edit out the metal pegs. I'd rather edit out the stool and redraw the shadows lol, seems backwards but really it's not. Background fixes receive less attention and therefore don't have to be "as good" as fixes to the subject. One word of caution if you go this route, is to have the shot planned out so you can get her standing, take the shot quickly, and then quickly lay her back down. She shouldn't be standing for too long since she isn't really meant to stand. I will say that her ankles have not loosened up at all from doing this. They are still VERY tight, which is good. But even when all you get is a glimpse of the bottom of her foot, I think it's worth it...check out these samples from "Polka Dots" and "Volleyball Vixen".

What size are your outfits for her. I imagine they are stretch fabric. I guess would be small size? I got a school girl skirt for her which was the smallest one they had small/medium. It is a bit to big around the hips so trying to find a sash of sorts. I have read someone uses safety pins, but I think that's too much of a risk for hurting a doll. A cloth sash, i hope I can find somewhere, belts I think are risky too. I got this outfit today, my first time shopping at a regular clothing shop. They were quite helpful and said a size 4 would work for the measurements for the white shorts, RSLD gave for my 140 cm doll. It almost works but once again a little bit too big. nothing a sash or cloth type belt might fix.

It's difficult to generalize about sizes since every clothing manufacturer will be a little different. The leggings, for example, are from Gymshark which is a fitness clothing company based out of the UK. Sizes for men's and women's clothing run very small. I just rolled the dice and got an XS and they fit very well in the legs and butt, however the waistband landed way to high on her waist, making the waist baggy. So I cut the waistband off, rolled down he excess material at the top of the leggings and then placed the now separated waistband lower on her hips to cover up the folded material. No sewing or anything! It looks like the waistband is connected but it really isn't.

I generally stick to spandex type of clothing because you don't have to be as accurate in sizing. When in doubt between two sizes, I just err on the smaller side.

I most certainly wouldn't bring safety pins anywhere near her just because it's too risky. I have occasionally used office clamps to making clothing appear tighter. That's ok as long as you don't pinch her skin or place it in a location where any weight will be placed on it.

My best advice is to use the measurements from clothing manufacturer's websites and compare them to the measurements of your girl, keeping in mind how tight you want it to be. It can be challenging at times, but that's all part of the fun!

Thanks for the advice. It is a challenge but fun. The shorts you see in the picture I posted are similar in that they ride too high, up to her waist, so are loose. I can see if I can find a soft belt for them that would make them tighter. But belts can't be very tight in that they could cut into her "skin". I am thinking of looking for some cloth type sashes that I can tie to her size to hold up any thing for her legs that ends up a little too big And your right about how sizes are all over the place depending on the manufacturer. Even for me. Shirts are really bad that way. One brand, large would be just right, another large, would be too small. At least with our dolls their size stays the same lol.
