hi, bjd artist crossing over?

Post by stacia_ »

Hi! I'm Stacia, I've been sculpting and painting ball jointed dolls for years but I've been fascinated with the beauty and presence of life-sized adult dolls lately, especially after hearing about the AI thing realdoll has in the works. I would love to start working with them! :evilbat: Not really sure what else to say. I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone and getting inspired :)

Hi Stacia, welcome to the forum.
I have one full size silicone and one DollsTown BJD so I'm quite familiar with the type of face-up and tattooing or body blushing work you may have been doing.
Dealing with silicone or TPE is a whole different medium to work with so you will learn a lot more about the material working with a full size doll.

I hope you see one that you like and decide to buy one. You'll enjoy having her or him around.

Hello and welcome Stacia! This is certainly the place to get inspired! :D
No matter how pretty she is, there is a guy out there somewhere who is tired of her shit!

Girlfriends are for guys who haven't found the right doll yet.

I feel much better now that I've given up hope.

Welcome. We already have a famous Stacy here that photographs RD's. I'd say at least change that username before all hell breaks loose.

yes, i'm super excited to learn a bunch of different material processes-the process of experimenting/making the molds and castings was almost more fun for me than the sculpting part. and i have a couple dolls in the marketplace bookmarked already, lol. i think i just like having quiet friends around

I took a look at your work from the link, amazing stuff. I've not seen work like yours on a BJD before. That mask is gorgeous, so detailed for 1/3 scale, and I love your Judith, remarkable sculpt, love the wig too. The chest plate dress is just amazing.
Judging by your work I'd say that a silicone doll would be an easier medium to work with than TPE. Adding and modifying or shaping silicone is a lot easier.
Bear this in mind when choosing a doll.
And, yes, I like having quiet friends around too.

I checked out your site. You are very talented. :D

Love dolls are still in their infancy and have many miles and routes to travel. Looking forward to seeing you involved. I hope to make silicone dolls someday that pushes the boundaries on fantasy.
Some doll makers have done custom work, but it has been very limited.
