Unboxing quicky: Z-Onedoll ZO-138

Post by Dollstudio »

Hi,

it has been a while since the last Unboxing post, so here is at least an 'Unboxing quicky' for Z-Onedoll's ZO-138.

A *lot* of people have asked how Z-Onedoll has progressed in the past year, and this Unboxing will try to answer this question. The short answer is: Z-Onedoll has improved quite a bit. Surprisingly, a lot of their competitors have worsened within the same time frame. Especially the TPE competition… well, they are starting to fall behind. In this environment Z-Onedoll keeps improving. That is quite amazing!

First, packaging:

That's how the carton looks like when you open it. My first impression was: That actually looks well-ordered. Accessories are in a separate compartment (on the right). No metal parts floating around in the box.

Cover (on the left) removed. Looks still good.

The doll has her head attached - ZO has to consider their dolls with heating and animatronics. These heads can not be removed, so the packaging takes care of shipping a complete body. The inside of the cover padding (2nd picture) protects the head and helps to fix the upper body in the carton. Pretty smart.

This carton was a little bigger than necessary. Other manufacturers don't care and allow the doll to float around in the carton. Z-Onedoll fills the carton to prevent the doll from moving. I think someone actually listened to the customers.

This is good packaging!

Let's take the body out of the plastic bag:

It still looks good. No obvious dents or scratches.

Her backside. She looks still good. The butt is curvy. That's a relieve. There are so many TPE dolls shipped with a flat butt…

unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4785-dollstudio.JPG (437.25 KiB) Viewed 2042 times
Her frontside. And she looks still good!

…and the breasts feel awesome. They are really soft and they feel more natural than hollow TPE breasts.

This is a major improvement!

I need to take a quick video for illustration.

Let's take a closer look at the head. This one is called ZO-A40 aka Lolita.

The left eye is a bit out of sync, so let's fix that…
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4793-dollstudio.JPG
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4793-dollstudio.JPG (791.3 KiB) Viewed 2038 times
Wow, that was easy!

If you remember my Unboxing post from last year; one of my complaints was that the eyes were very hard to adjust. Z-Onedoll is using 32 mm full-round plastic eyeballs, and they stuck on the silicone eye sockets like poop on your sneakers. A quick workaround was to add little pieces of plastic in the back so the eyes could rotate smoother. Again, Z-Onedoll listened. They folded some paper and put it behind the eyeballs. It works well enough - it's a pure pleasure to adjust the line of sight.

This is a major enhancement. The Z-Onedoll eyeballs are now better adjustable than the eyes in any TPE doll i have seen!

Lets do a closeup of the eye and the eye lashes:
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4786-dollstudio.JPG
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4786-dollstudio.JPG (581.21 KiB) Viewed 2038 times
Closeups are usually not very friendly; even if you do a closeup on an attractive human face it will unmercifully show any dimple, every scar, and any wrinkle.

Heck, considering this, ZO's eye looks pretty decent in a closeup, don't you think?

Sure, it's not perfect. But I think it's good enough for the money. Z-Onedolls are budget dolls, like TPE dolls, and I wish all TPE dolls would look as decent in a closeup like this (believe me, they often don't…)

ZO-A40 is an oral-capable head, or at least it exists in an oral-capable variant. Press on her cheeks and her mouth opens:
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4794-dollstudio.JPG
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4794-dollstudio.JPG (536.4 KiB) Viewed 2038 times
Above you see the first real imperfection on this doll: The upper teeth are hardly visible. To catch up with medium-class silicone dolls like those from Doll Sweet or the updated heads from Sanhui, Z-Onedoll has still some work to do.

However, this is inherited from the molding process, which is still closely related to how TPE dolls are molded. If you look at the teeth of a TPE doll, they will usually look nicotine-stained. Teeth in TPE dolls are usually everything than white. In this regard, ZO is not better than a typical TPE head, but not worse, either.

To find and demonstrate another flaw, I need to change the lightning…

So far the backside looks flawless:
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4808-dollstudio.JPG
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4808-dollstudio.JPG (517.17 KiB) Viewed 2038 times
But on the right shoulder (top left of the picture below) are two small indentations:
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4807-dollstudio.JPG
unboxing-zo-138-body-zo-a40-head-4807-dollstudio.JPG (576.08 KiB) Viewed 2038 times
I don't know where they come from. There were no sharp objects floating around in the carton and the padding is really good.

Wherever they come from, you will have to live with it. Every ZO doll I have seen in the past year had little dents like this somewhere. Yes, if you want an absolutely perfect doll you need to look elsewhere. You will probably have to pay three or four times more - that's the price range where high-end silicone dolls start.

However, if you are willing to make some compromises or are undecided between a TPE and a silicone doll, Z-Onedoll is the answer.

I am pretty impressed that Z-Onedoll actually listend to the criticism expressed in the past. When we vendors tell certain other Chinese manufacturers that there are things that could or should be improved, we are used to get the middle finger. A polite, but unmistakable "buzz off, we don't care". It is amazing that of all Z-Onedoll turned out to care - with major enhancements like packaging and soft breasts, or little improvements like smoothly adjustable eyeballs.

Hi,

here is the short video clip illustrating the breast softness:
zo-breast-softness.mp4
(5.78 MiB) Downloaded 1606 times
Verdict: Yes, the breasts are soft, jiggly and they feel quite realistic.

Once more, compared with TPE, this is a serious alternative. Compared with JM and Sanhui, ZO has fully caught up in regard to breast softness.

Does Z-One dolls have an insert option?

Thank you for the review and the video. She's certainly a fun lady doll.

Viewing the video, I get the impression that the breast softness falls between what my JM and my Sanhui have; however, Sanhui has made dolls with extremely soft breasts, which some have reported as too soft, so my Sanhui, I think, is probably closer to Sanhui's standard during the time of her production. My Sanhui has firmer breasts than my JM.
笑. It's good for you.

Yes, ZO offers an insert option, but the built-in vagina is still the recommended variant.

Sanhui has some dolls with more or less hollow breasts. They are very soft, but sometimes feel a bit odd. The breasts of the original SH-165 feel a bit like balloons, the SH-165 Plus I had here a couple of months ago felt a lot better. The smaller Sanhui dolls have solid silicone breasts, and some of them feel amazingly soft (in my opinion, better than the hollow breasts of their taller dolls).

Hi,

a quick update from another ZO-138 shipment. What I'm interested in is the consistency of the packaging.

Each ZO shipment seems to be packaged slightly different. But overall ZO takes now reasonably good care that the doll does not move around in the carton during shipping. For about a year I did not encounter major issues with packagin or padding with a ZO.

Though it varies how much and where padding is packed into the box.

The doll is still wrapped in a plastic bag. ZO seems to have stopped using a sleeping bag for padding/protection completely. I think this is OK as the skin surface is relatively well protected. Either way, occasionally you might encounter little dents. That is more or less unavoidable with the soft materials used for these dolls.

This is a body detail I got asked frequently. The lady parts of the ZO-138 and ZO-151 are shaped a bit different tha those of the other (older) ZO body style - the labiae are more protruding.

If you like the pigmentation like this is a matter of personal taste; ZO can adjust the body makeup and make the areolae and labiae darker (like shown here in a real-world picture: http://www.dollforum.com/forum/viewtopi ... 27&t=88504).
