Website scroll behavior

ORDOLL have been a manufacturer since 2005. Our factory covers over 20000 square meters with professional sculptors and designers, 20 technicians and 230 employees. We specialized in developing, designing, producing and selling fibreglass mannequins for display clothes and cyberskin mannequin for display under wear and breasts. We recently ventured into love dolls. Our first model is OR156 which is 156cm (inclusive of head) with the first Sara head. Designers are working hard to introduce more heads in the coming months. Website scroll behavior

Post by Xephyr »

ORDoll, one thing that has always bugged me whenever I visit your website is the scroll hijacking. There is a script in your template that causes the mouse wheel scroll to skip over large sections of the page, making it difficult to stop at the desired spot. This is obstructive user experience and I hope you will see reason to consider a change. This isn't a bash at your site or anything, just something I thought to bring to your attention as something that could potentially have a negative impact on user experience.

ORDoll, I would like your input please. I think this scrolling "feature" takes away from user experience. One small scroll of the mouse wheel scrolls 20% of the page. This is not right at all! I hope that you would consider removing this feature. Every time I visit the website to check around for pictures of your dolls, I am reminded that using this site can be a little annoying.

Hmm, I just checked Chrome and its scrolling fine. Sorry.

Apparently, the javascript you have just doesn't work for FireFox, the scroll is too fast. I reach the bottom of the page in only 4 flicks of the wheel, it makes it difficult to stop at a certain places. It just skips past everything.

I recommend just disabling the scroll hijacking script to make it consistent with all browsers, but since it works in Chrome I guess don't worry about it. More people using Chrome these days.

No big deal!
