50% Weight Reduction

Post by keitherson »

I've seen some people around these forums mention that a 50% weight reduction is in the works.

I was just wondering whether this was true or not and where people have heard this from. If it is true then that's fantastic news, although kind of makes me wish I'd held out a year or so on ordering my current doll.

Well let's hope that the manufactures will listen.
It is needed.

Yep, most of the dolls I’m interested in would make my hemorrhoids explode.

My guess is The Osborne Effect. If I was a vendor or manufacturer, I would be very unhappy that my sales dried up because everyone decided to wait for the next generation of dolls.

I think it's possibly harder than anticipated as when I asked Sam about it he said it would be some time yet. So there's little point of holding off ordering waiting as you might be waiting quite a while.

Best wishes

Off topic but that is a perfect description of how video game software gets announced these days what with DLC and all that. As far as hardware goes though Sega takes the cake.
Obligatory Statement: In my opinion.

Thanks, Harem. Is it fair to say that the head of WM would have a vested interest in people continuing to buy the older (heavy) dolls? If so, he might have good reason to overestimate the difficulty and expected time frame... :)

Some vendor started this rumor in a thread where they pretty much described it as inside-info. It was however never officially confirmed or commented on by WM as far as I know.

I also believe it was said to be 30-50% reduced weight depending on model, so not necessarily cut in half.

If one already hava a doll and are looking to buy a new one, especially TPE in particular, I'd still recommend waiting until Q1 next year to see if they manage to release it or at least confirm the development, as it will make a big difference for many. WM are falling behind the competition with their skeleton and apparently still haven't even really fixed the vag-ball issue either, so they really need to update their dolls insides soon anyway. I'm certainly not buying another doll from them until they get this done.

For first-doll owners, I wouldn't care much about this rumor yet. You'll still gain a ton of experience with whatever you purchase and get a good idea of what weight you're comfortable with. The market is constantly evolving so you can't just sit and wait for the potential new stuff all the time, or else you'll never make the purchase :P

Exactly.

Also, new developments sometimes entail new issues. The dolls are a very good bang for the buck now.

Both Nord and Obin are on the ball above. Yes - I'd think Q1 of next year is on track.

Sam doesn't mislead me and I would be surprised if the weight reduction comes in sooner than he's led me to believe.

I wouldn't actually want the weight of the WM155 reduced. She's perfect as is. There are lots of WM dolls under 32kgs which are super toy ladies as is.

Best wishes

I hope the manufactures will produce light versions as an option like soft skin, loose joints, hollow breasts etc.
There're still customers like me who prefer some good weight for their dolls as a matter of realism. When coming to play time I wanna pretend I'm doing it with an actual woman who gives me some resistance in weight. Bouncing her off my bed with my first push due to her light weight would totally kill this impression

I have found that having to hold her in place is somewhat annoying as well. Albeit, I've developed methods, but your viewpoint is understandable.
