Regarding TPE experiments I tried a lot of different methods.
I tried almost everything from remolding with Xylol, repairkits, digital temperature regulated soldering iron (second best in my opinion), glue, ....
Finally I got a rework station like this

and it works fine for any kind of repair etc.
I 3D printed some molds and made some molds out of gypsum and casted some parts with hot TPE and dissolved TPE.
The problem with the dissolved TPE is that it takes weeks to get solid again.
The problem with the hot TPE taken from my inserts is that the material seems to be not the best quality.
I got different TPE samples from dolls which are claimed to be from WM, but all have different melting points and different hardness etc.
So finally I ended up in using the Fleshlight material which is much better to work with than with my TPE material.
There are almost no fumes when working with it and it's softer and more durable than the TPE I have.
I whish there was a doll out of this material...
Here an example of a sealed insert:

I can't really recommend experimenting with the TPE material as it is very toxic.
Gasmasks with filters are not 100% safe against all ingredients of the fumes.
Here I mentioned some of the ingredients of the fumes:

And who knows what else potentially toxic material they mix in their TPE
