Why do some RD owners glue in the insert to make it a fixed?

Post by Pron »

I read some of you glue in the insert in their dolls to make it fixed and replaceable by cutting it out.

Do you do this to prevent damage from the doll itself, because you don't have to remove the insert every time or do you do this for a better look and more realistic usage?

Do you glue in the insert with the adhesive or 2 part silicone (Platinum silicone)?

Will 2 part silicone bond better, worse or the same like adhesive?

If possible I would prefer to use 2 part silicone for all repairs because of the same color and hardness.

The two reasons I've seen are more realistic, especially when spreading legs, and a "performance" benefit (likely subjective).
