Serious warning - AVOID shipping with TNT!

I wonder if it happens also with regular heavy shipping boxes like tables, tvs, antiques etc.

The Chinese shipping agents prefer the carriers with the lowest rates. For most destinations that is Fedex, followed by DHL Express. As far as I can tell, TNT is normally only used if the bigger carriers are booked out, e.g. around Chinese New Year.

Doll Sweet is the only manufacturer that favours TNT. It's totally beyond me why - TNT costs about twice as much as shipping with DHL Express, and DHL Express is 2-3 times faster than TNT. It just makes absolutely no sense.

Since Sam pm'd me about the body - this shipment probably does not qualify as 'real' shipping damage by TNT standards, at least that's what they decided after hours on the phone:

Now it starts to get scary… after removing the remaining plastic foil there is nothing to keep the carton together…

…except that "TNT tape". They applied that after I rejected the first delivery attempt. They promised to enclose the damaged carton into another carton. They did not even keep this promise and just applied some tape on the edges.

That's the two sides of the carton. They were not connected to te rest of the box anymore.

Again, this is considered a minor damage by TNT standards.

I definitely do not want to see a major damage by TNT standards…

Questions raised:

1. What the heck are these people doing to our shipments?
2. …and why insists Doll Sweet to ship with TNT?

thats fucked up.. these people that don"t respect thier jobs or others belongings ,smoking to much of this and that. I feel for those who had to deal with all that nonsense...

Ok, thanks for the info. I can only say that everytime I get a package delivered by tnt, it is usually beaten up pretty badly.
As a customer I would be devastated to receive a 3k-4k € doll like that. Several years of savings and all that exitement and anticipation destroyed by some degenerated idiots. Not even talking about the losses the vendor has to endure. It is messed up. I completely understand and support your desicion to halt any DS sales. I just hope you will be able to get some compensation from tnt.

@RJAce1014: Ace ventura is on point. Sadly there is a lot of truth in that scene.

Hello Sandro.

I saw this post and it got my blood boiling again... I thought I was alone when TNT severely damaged my package as well. The package was split open on the sides just like the pictures you posted. The only thing holding it together was some loose plastic. You could see the pink foam about to fall out.

The contents were all jumbled and there was skeletal damage to my 167.

My 167's feet were damaged and the spine does not move all the way.

Just as bad if not worse, was the terribly rude and incompetent "customer service". I spent hours on the phone pleading with rep after rep for almost a month and getting nowhere. Only one guy helped me.
This is really the worst company I have ever dealt with and the worst experience I've had in years!!

I will never buy anything that ships with TNT again and I always insist to use anyone else. It's not worth the trouble.

well....in their defense...the name TNT doesn't exactly imply a gentle touch

seriously though. my doll i got last week(not tnt) still looks like someone tried to cave her eye socket in. its got a flat spot and the eye is part closed. i know how gutted i was when seen that. couldn't fathom the feeling of unpacking those boxes and finding that carnage inside. disgusting practice

Perhaps Doll Sweet uses TNT because while their average rate for volume shippers is higher than others DS has a better negotiated rate than most. If they all get the same volume rate and TNT is the highest then it makes no sense to use the highest when they damage a lot of dolls. Insurance should be enough to cover the cost of goods, shipping charges, etc as well to protect all parties. I have seen in my own 3 of 3 cases where the shipping agent only insured for half the cost of the goods in 1 the other no insurance at all. My Rifrano doll was fully insured & it arrived perfect the other 2 shipments - 1 NEVER ARRIVED AT ALL no insurance, the other with some shipping damage to the contents insured for 520.00.

My problem with this happening with Doll Sweet is they have the nerve to break down the shipping charges instead of building it into the cost of the doll. If they're going to charge directly for the shipping then they should offer the choice of carriers.

It's really simple - Just pull Doll Sweet's Trusted Vendor Status. No orders from TDF members for a month and either they will switch carrier or only sell to those that like to get scammed.

It's your $$$$ why would you send it to someone that does not care enough to see to it that their product is safely delivered?

That's probably only in Europe. Most shipments in USA are DHL starting March. They stopped recommending me TNT and UPS. Either way, I won't want any either.

This is only applied to buyers not vendors. Vendors has their own shipment plan unless your vendor is only proxy. There's vendors that goes through their warehouse first for check.

Ok...I got lucky with TNT who carried My Mazzy M, with no issues, but Doug did share a horror story with me of a TNT that delivered a 158 Leanne on a crate cut to bits by packing tape to down under, after the box had been destroyed.

I will leave that to Sandro and Doug to discuss if they so choose to allow that story and those images to be posted in this thread but here is a spoiler...

please advise me if you want it eased....I am pretty certain Doug paid out arefund or replaced the doll, to help that bloke out and is still chasing TNT for the damages.
