Are joints uniformly tight?

I saw this impressive DS factory tour video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VTXOdOx3ag but one thing that jumped out at me was that at 4 min 04 sec the technician was using a regular wrench instead of a torque wrench when assembling the joints. In this case, aren't there issues with uniformity of the joint tightness in a stiff-jointed skeleton?

There is consistency because only one worker per skeleton. Unlike many other Chinese assembly lines where you have one worker on either side of the doll. This is way better only having one worker per skeleton. The tension is quite even per doll

My DS girl has uniformly tight joints. 2 years of Synthetik Living. Joints still tight, holding all poses.

I have 2 DS145, the one made in 2015 has more or less even tight joints, the one made in 2016 goes from very tight to loose (left leg moving by own weight). Both have been ordered with tight joints

So in average, she has medium joints.
I agree that some means of measurement would help to reduce variations.

I have a 2016 DS145- with tight joints. The doll's right leg is definitely much more difficult to move and reposition than the left one. Hopefully it loosens up a little more over time. ...Not too much mind you--joint stiffness helps hold poses.

I have a 2016 DS145 which arrived in early Dec; tight joints but in my case the left leg has more friction/resistance at the hip joint compared with the right leg. Arms are ok.

my 148 was not, 156 is mostly except right shoulder is looser than the left

Could be the same as mine? The tighter one is the doll's left leg or the leg on the left when you're facing the doll?

If it were me i would loosen it up some, before it breaks. Just my opinion. )

That is not done easily, you have to cut open very deep because the hinges are a bolt/nut connection and the nut is not welded to the hinge. You have to have access to both sides of the hinge.

Agreed, It can be done from a single incision, but for a hip join that would be around 8 inches in length along the outer hip/thigh area. Not a job to do lightly (having done it 3 times)
