Well the auction finished . . .

Not the highest price for a rusty old car

but certainly a respectable price and to a buyer with good feedback . . . so "Sandy" has had some fun and given a lot of smiles . . . with around 41,000 visits to the ebay page during the week . . .

She certainly demonstrates "dollpower" contrasting two listings at the same time for amateur radios

Is this is the worst car salesperson ever?
We all come across car salespeople who are less than perfect at one point. Maybe you have had to deal with one who is too pushy, doesn’t answer your questions directly or just isn’t very good at their job.

These are all pretty annoying traits for anyone who works in the car trade but at least you aren’t likely to have encountered a blow up doll trying to sell you a battered old vehicle.

Unless you have been looking at an old VW Golf for sale on eBay lately, that is. An enterprising chap called ***** **** decided that the time was right to sell his 1990 Golf. If I’m being brutally honest here, it doesn’t look all that great. I don’t think that Angus will mind me saying that, as he clearly thought something similar.

Sandy’s the name; selling cars is the game

Realising that the car wasn’t going to attract a buyer very easily he did what any sane, well balanced person would have done; he took pictures of it with a blow up doll posing beside it. The doll is called Sandy and apparently she belongs to a friend of Angus’. I have no idea what her day job is when she isn’t kneeling beside old cars or sitting inside them but I assume that she is better at it than at this.

The question I really have to ask is whether you think that Sandy is the worst car salesperson you have ever seen. Did you she maybe make you laugh a little but generate no interest in your mind about buying the car?

Perhaps you’ve met a worst car salesperson at some point. It might even have been a human one rather than an inflatable one. If so, did you buy a car off them or did you get away from there as fast as possible?

We're tempted to just let you gaze at the picture above, and the gallery, then point you to the relevant auction on eBay UK and let you figure out the rest... but we'll at least say a few words. Auction site user Gawjusberni of East Grinstead, West Sussex, United Kingdom wants to move his Volkswagen Golf 1.8 MkII. However, Mr. - we'll assume we're dealing with a mister - Gawjusberni didn't see fit to list the model year, the mileage, the features or any of the usual minutiae found in such listings. But he did see fit to have a model, "Sandy," swing by.

She's the delightful doll in the teacher's outfit, probably just come from explaining the commutative property to a bunch of similarly rubberized elementary school dolls. In the short and only partially legible description, Mr. Gawjusberni says that Sandy "reports as follows" that the Golf has a "good engine, gearbox, clutch and drives well." She also knows how to point out rust, tender-like, on her knees. So there.

But it appears Sandy isn't a DIY'er and doesn't want to do the fixing up the Golf requires, so she passed on the purchase. Her loss, your gain, with bidding up to just 205 pounds ($344 US) at the time of writing.
