An eBay advert for a second-hand Volkswagen Golf has gone viral after its owner used a sex doll to help sell it.
***** **** wanted to grab the attention of Britain’s car buyers to shift the 1990 VW, and an enterprising friend suggested using a lifelike doll to model for a photoshoot on the old car.

The pair used a ‘poseable mannequin’ called Sandy to stand in a number of positions inside and next to the German hatchback.

Sandy also pointed out the areas of rust on the Volkswagen and posed in the driver’s seat.

*****, 47, an estate manager from East Grinstead, Sussex, said: ‘I thought it was a great idea and I’ve had people ringing up about it.

‘We did the same with a ride-on mower and it sold straight away.

‘The car needs a bit of work to get it back on the road but it is a future classic. Hopefully the doll helps sell it.’

Sandy’s owner, a married father-of-three who does not wish to be named, uses the doll for professional purposes because they come ‘without the fuss’ of the real model.

He said: ‘I have asked models if they would pose for eBay adverts before and most aren’t interested in it.

‘Poseable mannequins are ready and do what you need them to do. You don’t get the fuss you might get with models.

‘You don’t need to feed them or pick them up from the train station and you don’t need to pay them any royalties.

‘There are an enormous number of cars for sale and the mannequins are a way to grab your attention.’

The advert, listed as ‘Classic VW Golf 1.8, MK2′, was uploaded to eBay again after the previous buyer didn’t come forward to pay.

The advert for a very special harpsichord was picked up on Facebook last month and didn't make the press . . . A friend promises to come and spend time getting it into playing order and we'll probably use it for a harpsichord recital next month.

Thanks to Inflatafun tipping me off about the Metro article and to JoeDoll and Agalmato for such kind comments - not just kind, relevant too: in the face of criticism my comments on the harpsichord advert made the Facebook idiots think . . . and this is what we have to do to escape the puerile idiocy that causes prejudice against men enjoying harmless feminine presences in their lives and instead others unenlightened to go hunting for women causing havoc to marriages and wider social breakdown in society. Having whatever male urges, whether variously non-sexual or sexual, pacified in harmless ways means that we can enjoy life to the full in professional or the outside world without the hassle of the desire for extra feminine comfort getting in the way.

As a result, bringing posable mannequins more into the outside and the ordinary beyond the realms of discrimination must be a good thing.

What is really interesting, and particularly amusing, is in the way in which the photos of the advert are entirely absent of any connotation, and yet the "sex-doll" or even funnier "blowup style mannequin" is in the mind of the article writers, newspapers and put into the mind of the readers without any sexual content present.

To me it is just funny that the doll was not wearing a bikini, not put in an erotic pose.
Just a decent female prop in a funny ad.
This makes it so obvious it's the tabloid making sensationalism, not the ad

All the more amusing and yet sad that ebay has now pulled the page: as you say there was nothing of the slightest sexual content or hint on the page nor in the photos.

There is a prejudice that causes people to want to see something salacious where there is none . . . but the reality perhaps which is shocking in imagery is actually a mannequin able to move and pose - this is almost a neurosis about the threat of the non-human to humans, the rise of the robots, and a fear of women that women might be made redundant - or perhaps appalled that men might look upon women as objects.

Possibly some rather interesting issues are being thrown up in this . . .

Aira is Aira . . . but as made by DS she's their "Sandy" model

Aira is fully clad in casual style clothes, no bra showing up, no high heels, nothing sexist like her washing the car, and still they pull it.

What a shame. I really loved the pics and the idea.

AN advert on eBay for a car has become an internet sensation, after the owner enlisted the help of a very special model – which may or may not be a sex doll.

***** ****, 47, from *********** just outside East Grinstead, was inundated with cheeky messages after posting images of his 1990 VW Golf with Sandy, a life-size and almost true-to-life doll owned by a friend.

But despite news websites covering the story nationally branding the doll a “sex toy”, East Grinstead estate manager Mr **** insists that beneath her clothes, she’s not actually a sex doll at all.

He said: “It can be a sex doll it you want it to be – all the dolls come blank and then you can add in the other bits if you want to. But Sandy’s not that kind of girl. She’s purely there to help sell the items and with her help we’ve attracted a lot of interest in the car. My wife, however, does think I’m crazy.”

This is the second time the father-of-five has recruited Sandy to help sell his possessions after a lawnmower sold quickly on eBay.

But this time around Mr **** has been inundated with messages asking if the mannequin is real and if she “comes with the car”.

Sandy, however, is not a girl who can be bought.

The owner of glamorous Sandy, a married father-of-three who asked not to be named for fear of annoying his wife, says the doll is difficult to manoeuvre but that this is still easier than working with a real model.

He said: “With the mannequins you don’t need to feed them or pick them up from the train station and you don’t need to pay them any royalties.

“But what is very funny is that the sex-doll connotation associated with the adverts or the photos is completely in the mind.

“These are posable mannequins which are intended for photography and art – they have a sophisticated skeleton which is very stiff to manipulate but which holds poses.”

Together, the two friends took Sandy to a secluded spot to stand her in a number of positions inside and next to the German hatchback.

Despite insisting it’s “just a bit of fun” the pair admit that it was difficult to get Sandy to do their bidding.

“It was a bit of a workout really. People don’t realise just how heavy she is just from looking at her.

“Her joints are stiff, and it takes a bit of work to get her to stand up and sit down. Hopefully, it will pay off and I’ll sell the car,” Mr **** added.

At first glance, this looks like a totally normal Ebay listing for a VW Golf. It's listed to have a good (yup, that's the only adjective they give) engine, gearbox and clutch — plus it drives well. There are even some nice, simple pictures of the car. Numerous pictures with a model, in fact. One thing, though: that model is a sex doll. Enjoy...

Yes, she has a name. It's Sandy. Apparently she's driven this car. Her review? "Tried it out to much delight."
