Doll Review SanHui 102cm
I started ‘dolling’ with a beautiful 'full-size' doll but which quickly proved too heavy for my circumstances. I then went to a much smaller doll and I have progressively moved back up in doll model weight seeking to find what maximum I can safely handle.
Having ordered this new doll, I was actually still waiting to be advised when she would be dispatched, when she suddenly arrived at my door.
Beautiful Dolls have some impressive delivery times.
Packing;
The cardboard box was in good condition, so was strong enough to make the trip to OZ without damage. It was completely tape wrapped so getting wet had no effect.
I do not think that customs even looked at her, with no inspection marks on the box. I did not receive any bill for taxes or duty, which is even better.
While Dolly was well protected in foam wrapping, the exposed neck bolt still had insufficient packing. In this case, the neck was not damaged due to the new construction (more on that below).
That’s still no excuse for the makers failing to provide adequate protection for the neck part in transit regardless.
1st Impressions;
Weight – This doll is quite solid. At 13 kg she is twice the weight of my 88cm and only 14cm taller. She settles rather nicely in your arms and has a very real ‘presence’ effect.
Silicone - I immediately noticed the much softer silicone used on this model. While my 88 is nice to handle, this 102 is very noticeably softer and has a much more lifelike feel. Apart from being exceptional sculptors, SH are obviously keeping up with the general trend toward softer silicone formulae in current doll manufacture.
Body - Her body sculpt is very realistic and her shape is more proportionally ‘womanly’ than earlier models with nice hips and fuller thighs. While ‘small’ in stature, she cannot in any way be confused with a more youthful age shape.
She has plenty of ‘wow’ factor to get you going.
Skeleton – It is not possible for me to determine what type of skeleton she has. I suspect it is mostly ‘gooseneck’ style joints. They seem to work just fine, but being cold and very new, she is a bit stiff at this time. Hopefully she will ease up a bit with some more time and movement.
N.B: This doll now comes with a new ‘universal’ style neck joint which I have made a separate post about. This is a major move by SH away from wire in the neck. It moves freely in all directions and will hold in place. I suspect her fan rating will go up accordingly.
Head - Her head screws on easily but I noticed that the bolt is a tad loose fitting. Some plumber’s tape on the thread and problem is solved. (some powder on the neck and head base silicone helps prevent ‘grabbing’ as the two silicone edges come together)
This face is especially lovely! Those eyes that just beg for your attention. They work a very special magic of their own.
She has an oral facility, but it is small and I suspect would spoil her beautiful face with use. Not for me; she is way too pretty.
Boobies! - This 102 has some serious assets. The other size SH girls tend to have more modest attributes. Nice, but modest and a tad firm.
This girl however, has some really soft and squishy breasts. She actually has a tiny jiggle effect. They make a perfect small handful.
I suspect they are going to get lots (and lots) of attention.
Hands - This doll has finger wires. I notice that the ends appear quite sharp so I will have to keep an eye on those. I think they would benefit from a small bead on the ends to help prevent pokes.
She does not get acrylic nails (due to their small size) but her fingertips are very detailed and the moulded nails could be coloured if necessary.
Feet - She does not have toe wires but has a separate big toe so she can wear sandals. She also has a solid foot bone so she can stand upright with something to lean on. I suspect this would be improved with footwear.
Girlie bits – Very realistic and pretty to look at. They appear well made structurally with plenty of material around the entrance so she should hold up well in use.
She has nice texture inside of a more gentle nature. That is, compared to my 88, which likes to grip you a tad more firmly.
Her rear entry is a tad larger and comes with the SH trademark plug for ‘visual’ when not in use.
Both are more than adequate in length.
Detail – For a smaller doll, the fine detailing on the fingers, toes, nipples and labia is quite exceptionally carefully sculpted and very realistic.
Overall;
This is a very pretty doll. Her body proportions are something special in that they are so realistic. There is a distinct urge to ‘scoop her up in your arms’ factor that I haven’t seen in many other dolls. (please don’t take that personally, you sensitive ones)
I am very impressed with this doll so far. I think she will win many hearts and minds (and other body parts) lol.
For me; I need;
Weight I can handle – for dressing & sanitation
Discretion – i.e. ability to keep her out of sight.
Wow factor – for serious mood enhancement.
This doll does all that for me ……. and did I mention those eyes !
Many thanks to Beautiful Dolls; for their prompt and helpful service, and answering all my endless questions. Another happy buying experience.
You will have to excuse me while we get to know each other some more and then I will organise some pikkies.
Cheers
Eyespy

So, I guess we can safely abbreviate Sanhui as SH.
We'll keep the newbies confused, for sure. I like that, though.
I'm very tempted by this doll and am glad to read that the silicone has been softened.

if any exists, photograph it and send the photos to your vendor as a warning you suspect there has been shipping damage and this dolls neck is known to break if its been shipping damaged.
do NOT pose this dolls neck, and be careful when in positions where she is moving a lot.

Did you bother to at least read the review ?DarkOne wrote:As the owner of a Sanhui dolls whose neck broke within the first week, apparently not uncommon for Sanhui dolls with their wire neck design...

Sanhui changed their neck design for this doll from wires to hinge joints...
And by the way, very nice review, we wait for pics

And Sanhui only said their new 117CM(?) has a new hinge neck. They have said nothing about retrofitting the design into their existing doll line or any other Sanhui dolls that have it.Skeleton – It is not possible for me to determine what type of skeleton she has. I suspect it is mostly ‘gooseneck’ style joints.
I say these things not to warn people against Sanhui. Anyone who has bought (or is thinking of buying) a Sanhui will likely still want a Sanhui because the faces are sooo damn nice, IMO by far the best faces of any silicone doll in the 88cm to 120cm range. Even the all TPE dolls have trouble matching the beauty of a Sanhui face. I say these things so that Sanhui owners don't cry themselves to sleep at night because their doll's neck broke within a week like mine and 3 other members on this forum (88cm, 100cm and 120cm reporting failures of exactly the same type, all within 7 days of arrival!). Not sure if the 100cm is the same as the '102cm', but unless the silicone on the neck has already delaminated and you can pull it back to inspect the joint and find a hinge joint there, Be careful! Those neck joints are EXTREMELY fragile and can be wreaked by just bouncing in cowgirl position (without the head actually changing position, just elastic flexing) once already damaged by shipping.
Btw, My Sanhui doll has gotten a lot softer in the past month of owning it. Don't worry if its a little hard to start with, they do soften with age!

Yes i did, and if you continue to read under Skeleton:DarkOne wrote:Did you?And Sanhui only said their new 117CM(?) has a new hinge neck. And this is not retrofitting, the Sanhui 102 is a new model different from the 100...eyespyone wrote:N.B: This doll now comes with a new ‘universal’ style neck joint which I have made a separate post about. YAY for Sanhui making a new 102cm model with proper neck! Didn't know the 102 was not the 100. Iv been keeping away from sites that sell Sanhui as my credit card can't take it and I promised myself I would never buy another wire necked Sanhui after my 1st doll failed so early.
You have an absolutely amazing doll then! I have not heard of the arm/leg joints failing on Sanhui so they should be fine in a gooseneck style. And to be honest I would be much less upset about an arm/leg failure then a neck failure. Loss of the Sanhui face ruins the doll, and the head is too big for the silicone to support on its own.
Damnit, Now I REALLY have to stay away from any websites selling Sanhui or I'm going to be even more in debt! The wire neck (and my debt) are the only things that keep me from wanting to buy every single Sanhui model they make.
So, We have the 117CM and 102CM models with the new neck. Any other models I should be aware of before I make an ass of myself again?

Re: Doll Review SanHui 102cm
A while ago I posted an update in the 'maintenance' section, where 'retrofitting' in similar size SH dolls with damaged necks is now possible.
Unfortunately I think the new joint will be too large for the 88.

I fixed my 88CM Sanhui with a joint much better then Sanhui's new neck.eyespyone wrote:Hi Darkone,

Considering the labor involved to make it though, I don't suspect they will be switching to it anytime soon!
