'Cherry 2000' Love Doll Film

'Cherry 2000' is REQUIRED VIEWING for ALL members of this forum.

I saw it for the first time last night and was almost moved to tears. Our hero risks life and limb for his true love. The twist is she's a love doll.

In the distant future of the year 2017 David Andrews' (best known for being a dead ringer for Mark Harmon without any emotion) love doll breaks down at the worst possible moment. His only hope is to place her memory chip into a love doll of the exact same model Cherry 2000. For this he must battle his way through the post apocalyptic wild west.

You can see the ending coming from a mile away and most forum members probably won't agree with it.

FYI this was billed as Melanie Griffith film but rest assured she thankfully does NOT play a love doll.

Love the first 5 minutes. 2017...I think we are a little...behind. Perhaps 30 years or 100

I already saw it. Melanie might have made a passable gynoid in Milk Money, but not in Cherry 2000 and certainly not now.

I remember watching this in my teens,its what got me intrested in dolls all those years ago. Sometimes i think of tiffany as a 'cherry'2000. A.I. by stephen speilburg better though.

Yes Cherry 2000 is a great film and I also watched it when it was first released in the 80's. We've always use the Cherry 2000 as a bench mark term for future doll evolution.

I also remember the "I Mud" episodes from Star Trek TOS. Just a great shame that they decided to try and take over humans, hey maybe that's an omen

Thanks Stef! I always wanted to see the full movie but I only have a few trailers and short clips.
There is one other doll movie that I haven't seen. There was a spanish movie in the late 70's or 80's about
a man having a relationship with a doll. I remember Davecat posted something about it but I have never
been able to find it or clips from it.

Great old film that..actually saw it at the theatre back in the day...think Mel Griffith was in it too....still....I may have to track down a digital D/L and give it another go as did not mind the old jacked up mustang rally pack either...LOL

Pygmalion2, I could be wrong but I think that the movie you are talking about is "Tamaño natural" in spanish or "Grandeur nature" in french, it is a 1973 movie directed by Luis García Berlanga.
