Unbeknownst to his tenants, Frank is a schizophrenic serial killer who spends his nights stalking and killing women, scalping them and bringing the scalps and their clothing back home to decorate his steadily growing supply of mannequins. Once a mannequin has been decorated to his satisfaction, Frank sleeps with it for several nights, using them to carry on one-sided conversations with his deceased mother, an abusive prostitute who subjected him to years of physical abuse before dying in a car accident and leaving him orphaned. Inexplicably, after several nights, Frank grows tired of each mannequin, posing them around different parts of his apartment before seeking out another victim. A remake was released in 2012.
• "Revenge of the Stepford Wives", October 1980. A TV reporter arrives in Stepford to do a story on the American town with the lowest crime and divorce rates and the tightest real-estate market (no one ever leaves). Four times a day a siren sounds and every woman in town takes a pill (they each claim it's a thyroid condition). 1973
• "Westworld", November 1973. Written by Michael Crichton and also his directorial debut, the film is set sometime in the near future where a high-tech, highly realistic adult amusement park called Delos features androids that are almost indistinguishable from human beings. For $1,000 per day, guests may indulge in any fantasy, including killing or having sex with the androids.

Professor Darcy, a drug addict, is seen running from the house and is caught by the police. When brought to the station, he breaks down and admits that the sculptor Ivan Igor is in fact the killer and that he has been murdering people, stealing their bodies, and dipping them in wax to create lifelike statues.

1927

Awesome list! Thank you!

You might want to add the following two items to your list -

Chobits - It is an anime series based off of a manga series from Japan. The gist of the plot is that of a naive farm boy from Hokkaido who has recently arrived in Tokyo who finds a discarded persocom (android) and takes her home. He activates her initiating a long string of events with the two major plot points being that she is a persocom struggling to become a sentient A.I. (chobit) and the two of them falling in love. The series was broadcast for the first time in 2002.

Maid Droid - 2008. When he tries to reprogram his robotic maid, Maria (Akiho Yoshizawa), to gratify him sexually, aging Ueno begins to fall in love with the droid -- only to discover that her batteries are slowly but permanently losing their power.
