Re: Mannequin Questionaire - Do we need a forum?
Why did you store here in a factory, where anybody could steal her?
Since she comes apart, couldn't you store her in your house?
I hid mine under the bed, until the cleaning lady found her while vacuuming.
If that doesn't work, there's public storage.
You can take her apart, so you can rent as small as space as possible, to save money.
Also less conspicuous when moving her.

Re: Mannequin Questionaire - Do we need a forum?
Thanks for noticing. I think the term from back in the late 1930's was a "pinhead". Not very PC.Netwit, the laughing girl at the bottom of your post, is she a Neanderthal?
She (or he maybe? a TG from the 30s; way ahead of her time) was actually supposed to be a pretty frightful character. If you google +schlitzie +halloween, you'll see there were horror masks made of her. It belies what appears to be a kind, innocent nature if you look at my clip from the post about my avatar.

Re: Mannequin Questionaire - Do we need a forum?
I believe, as a Forum, we should be as inclusive as possible, as well as being a de facto library for people researching dolls and so forth in general.
Although I appreciate that the main driving force of this forum is primal/sexual in nature, it doesn't necessarily have to be.
I like seeing pretty mannequins and can appreciate pictures of them (and playing dress-up etc).
The female form is, after all, beautiful.
It would be great to have a place where owners can show off their girls (and boys!) on here.
Hopefully this will encourage others to come out of the woods and join in, if we're seen to be a more inclusive forum - just as has started to happen with the miniature adult dolls. Would I have started posting pics of my smaller girls if there wasn't a specific forum? No. Is the miniature subforum sexualised at all? No.
So it stands to reason that a mannequin forum, with a clearly sexualised element to at least some of it, should be deserving of its own room.

Now we need a graphic for the forum...at least to get things started.
It should be visually pleasing at this size...
And applicable to the theme.
Feel free to post your ideas in this thread... Larger is OK as we can reduce.
We will add the border.

I was sole caretaker / watchman for the factory for two years four story 144000 sqft 1857-1911 brick and wood wounderland. One day I got a call the demolition & construction crews would be in the next day and I was no longer needed. Though I was 24 the repercussions if my parents found her outweighed the loss so I left her behind. She was a free damaged dumpster mannequin after all and never had a name. I do have a few pics somewhere and I'll post some if a forum is created.LovesBlackWomen wrote:re "I lived with the folks then and kept her in an abonded factory. Oh happy day!TDF_Management wrote:Looks like there is sufficient interest to set up a dedicated forum for mannequins. Thanks to the power and suggestion of TDF members
I think that my Abcde and GB's Synthea should be very prominent in the graphic, since it was me and my MQ that really got all this recent interest started, and the reason GB bought a MQ, and he was the one that brought up the topic on a category on the forum for them, pushed towards having one with good arguments, etc. We are like MQ Forum's Founding Fathers, if you will. Now we need a graphic for the forum...at least to get things started.

Others can be in the graphic as well. Abcde on one side, Synthea on the other, with other MQ's in between?
Something along the lines of these to photos put together better than I do it, of course, but it's a start:
