Thanks guys! :)
I think this is about the best MQ I've seen yet for modding.

I'm waiting on more printer plastic to finish up her joints.
For the puffy nipple mod I'm going to print a mold tool to use with some Apoxie sculpt to form the nipple over the existing ones ...

Hopefully I can wet the tool with water and shape the Apoxie sculpt by pressing and twisting the tool.

Here's the revised version of the should joint. Needed to reshape to fit in the shoulder and print socket 2 pieces to avoid lots of support material...

Yay, looks like we're in store for another Siberian winter this year. :(
Hope everybody is staying warm wherever you are.

Moving along with the shoulder joint experiment today...

1. Using the template, drilled the 4 mounting holes and holes around the perimeter to cut out existing metal connector.
2. "Connected the dots" for the cutout.
Lots of thick fiberglass resin around the existing metal connector so it took a little more work than the adapter hole.
3. New printed pin assembly temporarily screwed on over the existing arm hook.
4. Socket assembly temporarily screwed in place.
The hole will need to be reinforced with Apoxie sculpt all around to get a good solid permanent installation.

MF,
This an amazing thread and project. I work as a drafter/fabricator and use 3D modeling software on a daily basis but mostly use AutoCAD to create layouts and the final production drawings. I don't use Rhino but I do use something similar, Autodesk Inventor, and seeing your screen caps remind me of the parts I make. However I'm too lazy to use my experience for personal use I rather just pay someone else to do it.

Anyway keep up the great work because your progress demonstrates what it takes to see something come to fruition. The amount of conceptional planning, modeling and testing really sets your thread apart from other projects that "build as they go along and hope for the best."

Thanks very much Mudpaw, I appreciate the kind words. :)

I've been in the architectural profession for over 30 years, semi retired now I guess. :?
I think I enjoy the planning and testing process more than the actual building, so this gives me something fun to be creative with between the occasional regular jobs. Hope I'm not boring folks with all the details.

Alright, I have a success on the shoulder joint!
Socket is permanently installed and test went well - almost too well, lol.
I'm glad I only used one magnet. With two it would have been very difficult to get the arm off.

Here's a new YouTube showing how well it works...it can even hold a pose! :)

Damn! That worked out really, really well.

Good thing you didn't use two magnets :D You'd never get her apart

Thanks Pageophile, yes I'm very happy with how the arms are working - actually even better than expected. :)

All four joints on Eva are now done.
As it turns out with the new leg sockets it only takes two of the 5/8" disc magnets to hold the legs on nicely.
The next thing I want to do is create some nice smooth rounded caps to cover the leg joints for use in torso mode, as I have found that this is one of the most fun ways to use her.
Without the legs attached she's light and easy to play with on the sofa in many positions and great for sitting on your lap when watching a good video on the net.
Being able to have the movable arms on her in torso mode really makes for a fairly decent experience.

The caps are printed in four pieces. I'll use one of the magnet slots for a pin on the cap to keep it from moving.
In red this kind of reminds me of Gouda cheese, lol...

Another thing I want to do is devise a way to secure a wig. Wigs just slide right off this girl's head.
I'm thinking of giving her a Velcro mohawk using the loop part of the Velcro.
I've read that using the hook part may snag the wig and damage it. Not sure if the loop alone will keep the wig from moving though.
I guess that's what experiments are for.

The torso mode end caps are a nice touch. Very much like those Baby Bell Cheese Wheels in red.

Velcro might mess up the interior of a wig pretty quickly from what I've seen.

Maybe a mohawk made from Silicon (or rubber)? That way it'll grip the wig or at least give the wig something to grab hold of.

Thanks Pageophile. :)

The finished leg cap was a success!
It snaps on nicely and the washers provide the perfect amount of hold to the magnets...

Now just rinse and repeat for the other leg.

A few more updates on Eva today.
The leg caps are finished. After painting them the skin color I decided to go with a dark color to emulate the look of the top of stockings instead of having the flesh colored amputated stump look.
With one sponge coat over the skin color it kind of looks like leather which I sort of like, so I'm going to leave it that way.
I found some hem tape at Joann Fabric that will work nicely as a garter that could slip on over the cap to further the illusion of the top of stockings.
http://www.joann.com/flexi-lace-hem-tap ... E&start=19
It comes in a red/pink color also which might look sexy. This stuff would also make for a nice delicate little choker as well.
I had a little fun with this - the back of the leg caps bear my signature... :)

Eva now sports a fuzzy blonde mohawk... 8O

So far this is working really well. I can literally pull on her hair from the back and not move the wig. :o :)
I used 3/4" wide sticky back Velcro strips on her head (the fuzzy loop part) and cut a couple of pieces about 1" long (the hook part) for the wig.
The sticky back adhesive doesn't work well on fabrics so I used some quick set epoxy to adhere the Velcro pieces to the wig.
The front piece is set back about 3/4" from the edge of the wig cap to allow the front band to lay flat on the forehead.

Thanks RK! :)

On Eva the only thing left is a little nipple mod to give her more puffy areolas and perhaps some shoulder caps for torso play - you know when you just want to throw her on the couch for a quickie without worrying about moving arms and legs.

I'm going to need another sale here soon to continue with this little mannequin R&D adventure, so I'll probably be putting Eva up for sale.
If a few people like these and I can sell them, I'll keep doing them.
If I do this, it will be with the Eva04 mannequin because IMO it's just the best one out there for this purpose that I've seen so far.
