There is no simple answer to this question, since there are different TPE blends.CF wrote:Aside from baby oil, which mineral oils are considered best by everyone at present?
For example, JINSAN TPE from 2015/2016 has the highest absorption ability.
Newer TPE blends, which are softer, require (and also are able to absorb) remarkable lower amounts of oil.
'Overdoing it' is more likely possible there.
Baby Oil has a very high viscosity, because of it's thickening agent (isopropyl palmitate).
In fact, it has a viscosity of over 1000 mPas.
Pure white mineral oil (paraffinum liquidum) has a viscosity of around 110-230 mPas.
The lower the viscosity of the oil, the faster it will soak-in.
Thin white mineral oil also has a better cleaning effect. Because it's a very thin liquid, it can get into the TPE structure 'easier'.
For the usage case of a oiled doll photo shoot, you will want to use an oil which soaks in slowly.
That said, most like Baby Oil will be the best.
In any case, i don't recommend letting soak in very high amounts of oil. Rather wipe it off soon. Don't wait too long and don't do it too often.
Since Vaseline is most likely the thickest available mineral oil product, it may be worth a try, too.
