are shoe sizes typically what you would expect? or do you go a little smaller to keep them on?

It might be a good idea to get a couple different sizes at first. I am a sucker for the stripper stilettos!

For the Kaylani Lei Wicked Realdoll, they specify size 6-7 for the shoes. For Kayla, I've bought the equivalent of size 6 shoes, size 36 in the Netherlands, and they fit her very well. They aren't loose, and aren't overly tight as far as I can tell.

For boots, Abyss recommends getting a size larger, but size 6 boots fit her just as well, but I guess, size 7 boots are easier to get on.

So, with this doll, the shoe size is spot on, but I don't know if the others are the same.

There's a fine art to getting shoes on.

The general rule of thumb is to go ONE TO TWO SIZES bigger than what Abyss recommends. NOT KIDDING. Trust me, they won't fall off.

Flat sandals are the easiest to get on and fit.

High heeled shoes are more of a challenge. Women's socks make them easier to slide in. Women's socks are usually for sale at any grocery store.

Open toed high heels are the biggest challenge but possible. Socks aren't worn with open toed shoes but you'll still need them.

-Slide the sock over just the tips of the toes.

-Then slide the foot into the shoe.

-Pull to sock out the front of the open toed shoes and the toes will slide into place.

Getting the toes back out of the shoes is easy, but do use care.

Abyss recommends size 8 for Body 3, size 10s are shown in these photos and there's no chance they'll fall off.

Another trick I have found to getting open toed shoes on is to use a clear plastic gallon size food bag and then use a pair of scissors to cut the exposed parts away. This is also helpful when trying to get closed toe shoes on if the doll isn't wearing stockings. Another thing that works sometimes is to rub water based lube over the toes, ball and side of the foot. Don't use any more than you have too as you don't want it running over the shoe as you squeeze the foot in. Once the foot is in wipe off any visible lube.

You may wanna put on stockings first, so some shoes and very sexy boots slide on easier and won't damage the silicone that easy while moving the doll and standing her up. "One size fits most" stocking work good.

Totally agree the stiletto style shoes that were shipped with my doll were a little tight and made me worry about causing damage to the foot, I would go at least one size larger than the recommended. Of course I will point out that it depends on the style of shoe as well, a boot or wide based shoe might work well with the recommended size but a stiletto style shoe is more than likely going to be tight.

5'1" = 61" x 2.54 = 154.94 cm

This is good advice, I do this also as I like the short boot look.
