Re: Successful - Giving TPE girl a tan

One last note: this 'tan' can be removed with simple mineral spirits. But it's permanent unless you do that. Otherwise it doesn't rub off, or wear off, or spread or anything.

Re: Successful - Giving TPE girl a tan

Here's the process for permanent TPE tanning. Overview: if you've ever stained woodwork, you'll see this works kind of the same. You'll be spraying a liberal coat of stain, letting it penetrate for a specified time, then wiping away the excess. Then repeating for *likely* 3-4 coats. But unlike worki...

Re: Successful - Giving TPE girl a tan

Also kudos to buttoncock, his work led to my experiments. He was at it a long time but suddenly disappeared (did he pass on?).

Anyway his 10-page source thread is here:

Re: Successful - Giving TPE girl a tan

Thanx all, Right, not just a paint job. I've got the process written down, just have to make it actually readable :) should be able to post it soon. Meanwhile I'm trying to do another pic or 2. I have 2 albums at the doll album, they're named experiment 1 and experiment 2 (she's a tantaly scarlett) ...

Successful - Giving TPE girl a tan

Hey there, I read some of the 'tanning' TPE posts a couple years back and found a way to make it work. The tanlines are permanent and don't rub/wash off. I used 2 tpe doll-products for this strictly research project. One of 'em was this little bouncing betty, tanned about a year ago and it's holding...

Re: Giving TPE girl a tan

That's an idea. I'm curious what spray would make the lighter skin or white color. Have you found one?

I can tell you the Airbrush Legs - Sally Hanson spray product really works, but that's for the opposite effect. To get 'tan' skin color that doesn't rub off.

Re: Giving TPE girl a tan

I'd recommend trying this 'Buttoncock Tan' method (giving credit where credit is due) on something small and cheap...like a Bangin' Betty Stroker. That's a real TPE product that won't break anyone's bank. It's what I used for Experiment #1 testing and it came out very well. (When I can post a pic, y...

Re: Giving TPE girl a tan

My experimental tanlines on 2 TPE dolls have been done for almost a year. There's no sign of fading, wearing off or spreading, etc. One doll is a Tantaly Scarlett, the other is a cheap-ass fun-butt toy also made of TPE.

Re: Giving TPE girl a tan

Anyone still reading this thread? Last year I continued buttoncock's research, he was last here in 2016 or so. I used his general technique then refined it to work pretty fast and permanently. If there's still interest I did take some pics and can post the process. but I'm new so no pics allowed yet.
