I have forgotten, what are your dolls dimensions? I presume it is about 5' tall and about 60 lbs?

The choice by the user seems the fairest way.

I still think the full configurator, showing the doll with your options is the better way, unless it costs too much to implement.

I was expecting something like the previous one RD had which showed you your choices as an image
